Meghan Markle’s Christmas card dress costs £830 – but is less pricier than her 2022 dress | Royal | News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have released their annual Christmas card wishing the world a ‘happy holiday season.’

The Duchess and Duke of Sussex used a photograph of them smiling and applauding at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games, which took place last September in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The royal couple, who were blasted for their charitable work last year, wrote on the card: “We wish you a very happy holiday season, Thanks for all the support in 2023!”

Meghan looked glamorous in a peacock green Raylene dress by Cult Gaia, a beautiful floor-length yet strapless gown with a laser cutout floral pattern on the bottom skirt.

Like many of her outfits, Meghan minimised her accessories and kept it simple with £595 Kimaiu hoop earrings a Cartier bangle and a pair of nude £530 Aquazzura heels. The Duchess a owns £17,000 collection of shoes from the brand.

The elegant dress is worth £830, a little less pricer than the one-of-a-kind dress that the Duchess wore in her 2022 Christmas card.

Last year, both Meghan and Harry’s Christmas card featured a photo of themselves at the Ripple of Hope Award ceremony taken in early December 2022.

The Duke and Duchess were awarded for their philanthropic work fighting against racism and the royal couple attended the event shortly after the release of their Netflix documentary Meghan & Harry.

Meghan wore a white off-the-shoulder dress designed by Louis Vuitton, which featured long sleeves and an above-ankle slit.

It is unknown how much Meghan’s Louis Vuitton dress is worth as it was custom-made, but a dress by the same designer off the rack is worth roughly $3,000, and the one-of-a-kind piece will likely be worth a lot more.

Meghan accessorised the dress at the time with classic black pumps and dangling earrings from Carolina Herrera, but her statement piece was a cocktail aquamarine ring that originally belonged to Diana, the Princess of Wales.

Diana had the ring commissioned to replace her engagement ring after she divorced King Charles (formerly Prince Charles) in 1996 but first wore the ring to an auction in 1997.

Meghan first wore the ring on her wedding day in 2018 to be her ‘something blue’ as well as her ‘something borrowed’

Both Meghan and Harry’s 2022 and 2023 Christmas cards do not feature their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The last Christmas card that Sussexes shared which featured their children was in 2021, which was also the first photograph the royal couple shared of their daughter Lilibet.

In the 2021 card, the couple wrote: “Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’ and Lili made us a family.”

Meghan has also revealed that both she and Harry are currently having fun this Christmas with their children. During an appearance on the red carpet at the Variety’s Power of Women in November, Meghan was asked about her favourite holiday traditions.

She replied: “That’s a great question, our little ones are little, and we’re enjoying every moment of it.”
