Aldi launches quirky baked bean fashion ties as accessory makes a comeback in 2026

Devotees of Aldi can now showcase the store’s baked beans in their wardrobe — courtesy of a quirky collection of ties. Style-conscious supporters of the supermarket can display their cherished Aldi products around their necks, featuring baked beans, butter and even fizzy drinks, thanks to the eccentric range. Once confined to the office, weddings or school assemblies, Aldi research shows ties are experiencing a revival as a relaxed fashion statement.

To mark this sartorial comeback, Aldi has launched its own limited-edition Special Ties collection for customers to snap up. Research conducted by the supermarket found two-fifths (41%) of Gen Z shoppers now sport ties as fashion accessories instead of reserving them solely for formal events. More than half (57%) consider the tie has become considerably more fashionable since its re-emergence began in 2026.

With nearly two-thirds of Britons (65%) now possessing a tie, 70% feel fashion conventions are more relaxed than ever before.

Championed by style icons including Zendaya and Harry Styles, a fresh generation is embracing the tie and teaming it with oversized shirts, miniskirts, loose-fitting denim and trainers.

To embrace the movement, 40% of Britons confess they’ve previously raided clothing from their dad’s, boyfriend’s or husband’s wardrobe, while a quarter (23%) acknowledge they’ve drawn inspiration from celebrity fashion.

Among those surveyed, 36% have donned the accessory for an evening out or dinner engagement, and 53% of Gen Z respondents indicated they’re more inclined to wear one socially than in the workplace. The Aldi collection features tie designs inspired by Nordpak Slightly Salted Butter, Professor Peppy and Bramwells Baked Beans.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “The tie has had a glow-up, going from an office essential to a must-have accessory. We couldn’t resist putting our own Aldi spin on the trend by transforming some of our most iconic products into wearable fashion.

“Our Special Ties celebrate the classic accessory’s return and show that style inspiration can come from anywhere, even the supermarket aisles.”

Shoppers wanting to win the Special Ties range should email SpecialTies@aldi.co.uk with their full name before 11:59pm on August 27 2026.
