Meghan Markle and Princess Kate looked identical in bright red dress | Royal | News

Meghan Markle and Princess Kate are constantly photographed and rarely miss when it comes to fashion.

While the pair both have their own unique personal styles, there have been times the royal duo have gone for similar outfits.

Both the Duchess and the Princess have rocked a red midi dress, for example – and both in 2016.

Back in her Suits days before she became a royal, Meghan stepped out at a Today Show taping at NBC Rockefeller Center Studios on July 14, 2016.

The then-actress looked absolutely jaw-dropping in a fire engine red midi dress.

The dress boasted thick straps and a slightly plunging neckline. It nipped in at the waist which highlighted her fabulous figure.

Meghan accessorised with very minimal jewellery, seemingly just a dainty gold bracelet on one wrist.

She went for a large statement black handbag and clutched a pair of tortoiseshell sunnies in one hand.

The actress went for some camel court shoes with very pointed toes.

She wore her hair down in stunning loose waves, and she went for evening makeup, complete with dark eyes, bronzer and a subtle pink lip.

Months later in September 2016, Princess Kate stepped out in an extremely similar mid-length fire engine red dress.

It featured straps quite like Meghan’s but boasted an asymmetrical neckline as opposed to a low one.

The royal accessorised with all red accessories, including a clutch and pointed-toe suede court shoes.

Kate’s jewellery was stereotypically show-stopping on this occasion. She wore a maple leaf brooch made from diamonds set in platinum, loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II for her Canada tour.

She wore gold drop earrings with a blue and a white stone. Kate showcased these by wearing her hair in a chic low bun, pulled back away from her face. Of course she also wore her incredible Ceylon sapphire engagement ring.

Kate went for similar makeup to Meghan, appearing to wear a touch of bronzer, blusher, dark eyes and pink lips.
