Prince Harry

Who REALLY is Britain’s sexiest man? The Spiderman star making waves in Hollywood – or the 64-year-old motormouth who mucks out cows on Diddly Squat Farm? How Jeremy Clarkson and his £43m fortune beat 5ft6in Tom Holland to be named UK’s hunkiest man

By his own admission, Jeremy Clarkson carries a few more pounds than most – and his wallet is believed to be a few pounds heavier than Tom Holland‘s too.

For the second year running the presenter and petrolhead, 64, has been voted Britain’s sexiest man – a victory also celebrated by millions of men with a ‘dad bod’ like his.

In the annual vote around 2,000 women gave Jeremy a nine out of ten on the sexiness scale, while Spiderman star Tom, who is 37 years Clarkson’s junior, finished second with an eight.

Prince William came third, Cillian Murphy was fourth and Idris Elba came in fifth, with the journalist and farmer also thrashing Prince Harry, who came in 47th. Old foe Piers Morgan was in 40th place.

So how did Mr Clarkson, who lost a stone recently using fat-busting drug Ozempic after admitting getting ‘unbelievably fat’ after he quit smoking, win the accolade of the UK’s most alluring man to women?

While his critics have expressed their disbelief, relationship expert Noor Hibbert has said Clarkson does have an ‘aura of attractiveness’, a view that around 2,000 women appear to share.

She said: ‘Jeremy exudes a strong sense of self-confidence and self-assuredness, which can be highly appealing to many women. Due to his level of confidence, it can create an aura of attractiveness and draw people towards him.

‘He has the ability to command attention and this can be seen as a desirable quality when women look for what is considered sexy,’ she added.

And while debate rages over the decision, MailOnline has taken a deep dive into Clarkson vs Holland in a bid to finally settle who is really the nation’s number one heartthrob.

Net worth, cars and houses

If money equates to sexiness, then Clarkson is sexier by about £23million.

The Spiderman star is hardly struggling to get by and boasts a sizeable £20million fortune but it is less than half of the ex-Top Gear presenter’s £43million net worth.

And while the 27-year-old’s fleet of luxury cars including a £500,000 Rolls-Royce SUV and £2.5million West London home will leave some feeling warm at night, he’s lacking one key weapon in his arsenal. A farm.

If it’s birthing a new brood of piglets, walks in the countryside and battles with the local council that float your boat. Clarkson has that in abundance.

He also boasts his own brand of cider (although it is known to explode).

Education

You may or may not have heard but Jeremy Clarkson failed his A-levels – not that he ever talks about it.

The presenter’s annual brag that his results – the lowest possible grade of U in two of his courses – are ‘not the end of the world’ is infamous.

So much so in fact that it has spawned its own memes, hashtags and probably t-shirts (if you want to wear one on your first date).

Of course, Clarkson’s tweets do have a point, to remind students who are worried about bad grades that results are not everything.

Unlike his rival in the sexiness stakes, Holland hasn’t been quite so public about sharing his own results.

He left mainstream education to attend the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology – a move you could argue has paid off handsomely.

Enemies defeated

Enemies come in all shapes and sizes. And for a super-villain fighting Marvel comic character they come bigger and badder than most.

Tom Holland’s face-offs with the likes of The Vulture and Mysterio in the Spider-Man films saw him win the affections of Zendaya’s Mary-Jane, and save thousands of lives in the process.

It hasn’t always been plain sailing though – spoiler alert! – with Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin killing his beloved Aunt May, while big baddie Thanos did wipe out half the universe (before the Avengers heroically undid his mayhem).

Clarkson, of course, doesn’t have the benefit of having a superhero alter-ego or the lycra-clad costume to boot (to the disappointment of his legion of fans).

He does, however, have a more relatable enemy in the form of his local council.

Clarkson has clashed with the bureaucrats at West Oxfordshire District Council on multiple occasions over his plans for his Diddley Squat Farm.

The presenter has submitted 10 planning applications to make changes to his 1000-acre farm, only to be frustrated time and time again.

Proposals to open a restaurant, build a pickle ball court and even lay out a simple farm track to a converted barn have been rejected by the councillors.

He has seen some success against his mortal enemies, but unlike Holland’s alter-ego, the hero of the piece does not always win the day, particularly when it comes the brick wall of council bureaucracy.

Most daring stunt

Speaking of brick walls, despite thinking up perilous stunts and venturing into some of the most dangerous places in the planet, few things have been caused Jeremy Clarkson more concern than a pile of clay and mortar.

From turning a car into a sea-faring vessel, to racing a double-decker bus, the TV presenter is no stranger to pushing the limit to entertain his audience.

However, the trick that saw him in most danger was driving a lorry at a brick wall for an episode of Top Gear in 2008.

It has since been revealed that Clarkson was so badly hurt after the stunt, which took place in a Renault Magnum, that his head became ‘dislodged from his spine’. Fortunately, he made a full recovery.

Holland’s death-defying stunts are more spectacular, but are almost second-nature at this point, with the actor filming dozens in his six Spider-Man films.

Whether it’s crawling along walls – using his spider superpowers to walk along walls and ceilings – or swinging on webs through New York City, the actor is often seen on the edge.

Fortunately he has come through unscathed thanks to Hollywood safety procedures and stuntmen.

He might have to watch out in his day-to-day life though – earlier this year he was injured when a golf ball hit him on the head while playing a round at St Andrews.

Most unusual talent

Before Clarkson took the plunge to purchase a piece of farmland in rural Oxfordshire, few would have ever imagined him sweeping up piles of manure or pulling baby animals out of livestock.

But his talents have been firmly put to the test ever since, and he has now impressed fans with his talent in caring for and rearing farm animals.

From welcoming baby piglets into the world to sending his cows to slaughter for meat, Clarkson has delighted audiences far beyond his existing motor fan base.

The latest turn in his career shows how different things may have been if Clarkson had never made it in the world of TV.

And he is far from alone – Holland almost quit acting as a teen to pursue his talent in  carpentry.

Hitting a rut in his career before landing the role of Spider-Man, he was sent on a six-week carpentry course by his parents – and found that not only was he good at it, he enjoyed it too.

He previously described how the course gave him crucial perspective and a determination to succeed.

‘The crazy thing about the course was it was for people trying to turn their lives around,’ he recalled.

‘You know there’s a lot of ex-cons and some tough people in there, and they’re all like swapping stories and stuff, and then I’m like “yeah, there was this one time on set when my coffee was cold man, and it was really tough”.’

The actor has also impressed fans with his skills in gymnastics and dancing, causing many to swoon when he donned a pair of fishnet tights to take part in US show Lip Sync Battle.

Most attractive quality (according to female fans)

Clarkson and Holland both have a host of female fans with plenty of opinions – but there are a few features which are praised again and again.

For Clarkson, it’s his personality: his ‘outrageous’ opinions and his determination to air them.

The Grand Tour presenter’s views have got him into trouble in the past – he was heavily criticised for a column in which he called for Meghan Markle to be ‘paraded naked through the streets’ in a reference to Game of Thrones.

However, he has been praised by viewers and farmers alike for his honesty in his Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, and for speaking up in support of the industry in Britain.

Holland’s appeal is far more traditional: his charm, effortlessly slick hairstyle and dark brown eyes.

His good looks have won him a legion of fans, as have his charismatic performances in Spider-Man.

Such is the level of fandom surrounding the Hollywood star, more than 200 fans cheered him as he stood on a balcony from the first floor of a West End theatre after his debut performance in Romeo and Juliet this week.

How they spend Valentine’s Day with their other half

If it’s romance Clarkson is looking for, there’s nothing better than a private, intimate date night in New York for Valentine’s Day.

Except that was how Holland spent February 14 with long-term girlfriend Zendaya.

First getting together in 2021, after meeting on the set of the Spider-Man films, it was reported in People magazine last month that the couple have discussed the prospect of marriage.

But while love is in the air in New York, for Clarkson and his partner of seven years Lisa Hogan, Valentine’s Day was far more down to earth.

The couple spent the day mucking out cows at the farm – with Jeremy accusing women of ‘hijacking’ the celebration and hitting out at the increasing cost of presents and cards.

Who said romance was dead?
