Sophie Turner’s kiss with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson was ‘one-sided’ as he made ‘all the effort’ – while the actress’s response was ‘just polite’, body language expert claims
Sophie Turner‘s passionate PDA with Peregrine Pearson looks ‘one-sided’, and ‘all the kiss effort’ is coming from the aristocrat, a body language expert has said.
The pair were spotted smooching in Paris on Saturday, just weeks after the Game of Thrones star, 27, announced her split from husband Joe Jonas.
But body language expert Judi James told FEMAIL that the loved-up exchange is ‘less convincing’ on Sophie’s part.
‘She is wearing a cap with a large peak and shades but she appears to make no effort to tilt her head to a reciprocal angle as you might for a romantic kiss,’ the expert explained.
‘She smiles as Peregrine moves close but that could be embarrassment and if this was anything like a romantic kiss response from her she’d need to tilt her head to make up for the cap peak and sunglasses barriers.’

Meanwhile, Peregrine looks to be much more animated. ‘All the kiss effort is coming from Peregrine,’ Judi said. ‘His feet are splayed and planted and his right hand appears to be gripping Sophie’s upper arm quite firmly as he leans in.’
His head is also tilted at an angle, as he ‘appears to be planting a kiss on her chin or her mouth’.
The differences can be seen in their holds, too. Sophie’s left arm is held out in ‘what looks like a hug’, while Peregrine is ‘clutching her’.
‘Her own hand doesn’t seem to be touching him at all here,’ the expert continued. ‘It looks like a greeting or farewell ritual where one of them has gone full mouth-kiss while Sophie’s reaction just looks polite.
‘If she is seen to have been tilting her head and reciprocating the hugging with some hand touching in further pics the message might be different but in these photos the effort appears to be one-sided.’

Judi also believes the kiss looks ‘contrived’. ‘This would have to be a very big and important body language statement from Peregrine and Sophie, given her high-profile split from Joe,’ she said.
‘A PDA that is this public and this contrived-looking would normally be seen as some kind of a snub to the ex as in “I’ve moved on” non-verbal statement, but a close examine of Peregrine’s role here and Sophie’s body language responses hint at something rather different.’
The couple were enjoying their passionate kiss near the Gare du Nord station.
Sophie’s new beau Peregrine comes from an aristocratic family which has a net worth of more than £224million.
In the picture, Sophie was seen cutting a smart figure in an all-black ensemble and a red baseball cap.
Peregrine, who recently split from King Charles’s goddaughter, kept it casual in grey jeans and a dark jacket as he leant in for a smooch.
The pair then parted ways in chauffeur-driven cars before they later reunited at the city’s Stade de France, where Sophie unveiled the trophy.
According to The Sun, an onlooker said: ‘They arrived together at the chauffeur pick-up location outside of the station. It looked like they might have both come on the Eurostar from London.
‘They stood there for a few minutes and were chatting and laughing a lot. He then took his hat off and leaned in to give her a big kiss. After the kiss they parted ways.’
Moving on: Their kiss comes one month after Sophie’s ex-husband Joe Jonas (both pictured in 2022) filed for divorce and the pair reached a temporary custody agreement
Just hours after the kiss, Sophie was seen smiling as she and Peregrine both arrived ahead of the Rugby World Cup Final match between New Zealand and South Africa.
Sophie walked a few steps ahead of the aristocrat – dubbed Britain’s ‘most eligible bachelor’ – before going on to the pitch to unveil the World Cup trophy.
Their kiss comes one month after Sophie’s ex-husband Joe Jonas filed for divorce and the pair reached a temporary custody agreement.
Peregrine is the eldest son and heir of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray – a former film producer who owns a significant chunk of the Pearson media empire.
He has a £5million pad in Chelsea while his father owns a sprawling mansion in West Sussex with 22 bedrooms and 16,500 acres of grounds boasting 10 polo pitches.
His ancestral estate is home to Cowdray Park Polo Club – which boasts 10 pitches and hosts more than 450 matches each year.
The prestigious club hosts the annual Gold Cup, where both Prince William and Prince Harry have played. The Gold Cup is polo’s most prestigious European event.
Peregrine had been dating Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, a 27-year-old model, but it emerged in September that they had gone their separate ways after ‘growing apart’.
‘They grew apart,’ a source told the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden at the time.
‘Their friends and family were hoping their union would lead to marriage, but it wasn’t meant to be.’
Putting on a brave face admits the heartache, the Princess enjoyed a meal out to celebrate socialite Alexia Mavroleon’s birthday in London, according to The Sun.

Earlier last month, Sophie and Joe spoke out after arriving at a temporary custody agreement.
The former pair shared a statement announcing their new arrangement after going through mediation last week amid their brutal divorce struggle.
DailyMail.com previously obtained court documents revealing that the new custody arrangement that will grant each parent two weeks at a time with their daughters and will allow the girls to travel back and forth between the US and UK.
‘After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK,’ Joe and Sophie said in a joint statement.
‘We look forward to being great co-parents,’ the couple added.
While Jonas will get to take the girls on tour with his band The Jonas Brothers, Turner will get to spend Christmas with them in the UK with her family.
