Single Drew Barrymore seemed ‘envious’ as Meghan Markle gushed over Prince Harry, body language expert reveals

Single Drew Barrymore seemed ‘envious’ as Meghan Markle gushed about her romance with Prince Harry on the actress’ talk show, a body language expert has revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, sat down with the 50 First Dates Star, 50, earlier this week to promote her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, and her brand, As Ever, and the interview aired on Thursday.
Meghan dished on everything from her new business endeavors to her marriage, but UK-based body language expert Judi James told DailyMail.com that Drew – who split from ex-husband Will Kopelman in 2016 – might have gotten a little jealous of the former royal when she started dishing on her and Harry’s special ‘connection.’
It all began when Drew brought up how ‘affectionate’ Meghan and Harry are with one another.
‘Every time I see a photo of you, you’re holding hands, you’re kissing, you are so affectionate,’ she said.
‘Life is full of surprises. I did not expect to meet H and for this to be our love story,’ Meghan responded.
‘I’m very lucky. I am married to the funniest, sweetest, most charming [man]. And he’s an amazing father.
‘I count my blessings because I have him. I have a partner who is so supportive of me.’

Meghan went on to explain that the key to keeping the spark alive between them is to act like they’re still in the early stages of their relationship, despite being married for six years.
She said that when she was younger she was given advice to ‘always date your partner.’
‘I told H that when we started dating. He goes, “I vow to always date you.” So we have this connection, I think, because we’re so committed to treating each other the same way we did before we had a ring on it, before it was locked down,’ she shared.
‘[You know that stage] where you’re just courting each other and you can see all the good and joy, that butterfly period.
‘I think that’s what keeps things really alive. It becomes part of your love language.’
Meghan, who couldn’t contain her smile, continued to gush over her relationship with Harry as Drew sat in silence listening.
‘We communicate without saying a word,’ Meghan went on. ‘We just show up for each other in ways that are big and small.

‘We love doing school drop off and pickup for the kids [together]. During the week our days are busy with meetings, but we have lunch together every day.
‘We just make it a point to date each other. It’s amazing. Honestly, it’s felt just so amazing and fun showing up for each other.’

But Judi has since told DailyMail.com that while Drew’s body language seemed ‘complimentary’ during Meghan’s lengthy and gushing comments about Harry, the actress also showcased some ‘possible envy.’
‘Meghan’s eyelid flutters as she looks upward, overwhelmed by the power of her feelings for [Harry], suggesting a young girl in the throes of a crush,’ Judi said.
‘Drew presents complimentary body language here, gazing at Meghan in awe and crossing her arms over her chest in a self-hug of what looks like empathy or possibly envy.
‘Drew’s self-hugs and “impressed” shaking of her head begin to wind down as Meghan shares her love.
‘In the end we see Drew’s expression looking more impassive although her eye gaze suggests she’s still lost in Meghan’s narrative.’
While analyzing their hug in the beginning of the interview, Judi said that Meghan came off as ’emotionally distant.’
‘This is a rare pose from Meghan who is normally the first one to move in with the hugs to register the warm, spontaneously tactile side that was apparently met with a tsunami of ice water from the royal firm back in the UK,’ she said.

Elsewhere during the appearance, Meghan seemed caught off guard when Drew surprised her with a photo of her and Princess Diana
‘She has clearly met her match in Drew, whose tactile behaviors on her chat show are a signature part of the brand.
‘But it seems from this pose that what you get when you put two famously hugging women together is that one will bow out, namely Meghan in this case.
‘Meghan adopts a straight, polite, more regal-looking pose here, perhaps mirroring the kind of response she met with from the UK royals when she was busy hugging them.
‘Her hand is hanging in her pocket rather than reciprocating the display of affection and she’s flashing a wide social smile at the camera rather than tilting her head in a reciprocal gesture.
‘Drew clings relentlessly though, curling her arms around Meghan’s waist in a partial koala embrace and tilting her head to nestle against Meghan’s locks.
‘Her rounded cheek, pursed lip smile signals a sense of warm friendship and affection while Meghan looks rather more distanced emotionally and keener to communicate with the camera than with her host here.’

Drew was seven at the time, had just starred in the movie ET and gave Meghan’s late mother-in-law a stuffed toy.
The ET actress told Meghan that meeting Harry’s mother had been the honor of her life.
‘It means so much to me to have met such an incredible human being that transcended everything. It was the honor of my life,’ Drew gushed.
Meghan appeared slightly thrown as she looked at the black and white image, laughed shyly and replied: ‘Oh, my gosh, look at your little face.
‘Oh, that’s so sweet. That’s really special. I will tell H [Harry] that, for sure.’
After the interview aired, viewers branded the host as ‘clingy’ and accused her of failing to ‘respect personal boundaries.’
