Royal fashion expert spots ‘hidden meaning’ behind Meghan Markle’s outfit | Royal | News
Meghan Markle never fails to impress when it comes to fashion, whether she is going full glam on the red carpet or rocking daytime chic.
But fashion expert Miranda Holder believes that Meghan’s fashion choices are not simply style preferences but symbolic too.
On her TikTok account – where she shares “Royal Style Titbits” – @themirandaholder spoke about an outfit the Duchess wore back in November 2022, in a video about “the hidden meaning behind Meghan’s green and purple outfit”.
She participated in a fundraiser held by the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, at an event called ‘The Power of Women: An Evening with Meghan’.
At the event she looked radiant in an emerald green keyhole dress by Giorgio Armani, which she teamed with some “seriously funky” purple suede high heels.
Miranda said: “Meghan has always had a shrewd approach to using colour in her wardrobe.
“She is well aware of the psychology and meaning behind the various hues.”
The expert claimed it was “no mistake at all” that Meghan decided to wear purple and green.
She said that the “beautiful green” and “powerful purple” combo “represents the feminist movement”.
Miranda continued: “The colour green represents hope and purple is the colour of International Women’s Day.”
Indeed, the official International Women’s Day website reads: “Purple, green and white are the colors of International Women’s Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity, and being loyal to the cause. Green symbolizes hope. White represents purity, albeit a controversial concept.
“The colors originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908.”
Miranda called Meghan a “very effective clothing communicator”, clearly having put a look of thought into her look.
Less symbolic but still stylish, the Duchess went for a pretty bun complete with a centre parting. Her makeup look was flawless, comprised of dark pink shimmery lips, bronzer and dark eyes.
According to the expert, this wasn’t the only time Meghan has used the colour of her clothing for meaning. She claimed she “frequently wore white during the more awkward moments with the Royal Family when there many tensions with her and Harry”.
She explained that “white evokes purity and innocence”. It also has the effect of making others feel comfortable around you.
