Revealed: Prince Harry lookalike at Kate Middleton’s Christmas carol concert is RAF reservist who claims he’s ‘never noticed the resemblance
A Prince Harry look-a-like’s phone ‘hasn’t stopped ringing’ since he was spotted in a trailer for the Princess of Wales‘s Christmas Eve carol concert, his proud mum has revealed.
Sgt Chris Dykes, 37, a reservist in the RAF, was seen by millions in the trailer for the service with eagle-eyed viewers immediately noticing the striking resemblance between him and the fifth in line to the throne.
Dressed in his ceremonial uniform Chris was a dead ringer for Harry right down to the ginger beard and similar build and stature as a trailer for the ‘Together at Christmas’ concert flashed up on screens ahead of the broadcast.
Delighted mum Janet Wyatt-Sugg, 68, told MailOnline:’To be honest ever since he grew his ginger beard a year or so ago, I’ve thought he looked a lot like Prince Harry, and especially when he is in uniform.
‘He’s ginger and I’m a ginger and as a child he was in the RAF cadets when he was younger and then three years ago, he got into the reserves, and he was so happy.
‘Then he grew the beard and one day when he was in uniform, I said:’ Gosh, you look a lot like Prince Harry’ and never thought anything of it until we saw the trailer and now all his friends and the rest of the unit are calling him Harry.
‘His phone hasn’t stopped ringing since he was on the telly and I was joking with him he should see if he can get a bit of work as a Prince Harry look-a-like.’
Chris, who transports luxury cars for a living, lives in Monmouth, south Wales, is a member of 622 Volunteer Gliding Squad based at Upavon, near Pewsey in Wiltshire and their motto is ‘Propter, Praemium Patienta (Patient for the sake of Reward).

The squadron was formed 80 years ago and is made up of volunteers and provides glider training in the Grob G103A aircraft known as a Viking T1 and earlier this year Chris won the Squadron Cup.
And in recognition he was asked by his commanding officer if he would like to go to the service and represent the squadron and was delighted to accept.
Janet said: ‘He spends all the time he can at the base and is always working hard and when he was asked, he was so excited.
‘Then when we saw the trailer and he was on it and looking like Prince Harry and the next thing, it was all over the MailOnline.
‘I always thought he looked like Prince Harry, especially when he grew the beard and the resemblance is really striking, especially in uniform.
‘When I saw the pictures, it really struck me. He has always loved the RAF and when he was younger, he passed flying a glider solo at 16, he really is dedicated.
‘His CO said they only had one place, and they offered it to Chris because he had done so well but then it was a real job trying to sort out the uniform which is called a number one from the other side of London.
‘He had to drive from Monmouth all the way over to pick it up, but he just loves the RAF and was happy to be going.
‘We all watched the programme but sadly you couldn’t see him during the performance it was only for the trailer at the very start, but all his friends and colleagues saw him and have been calling him Harry ever since.

This year’s service is particularly poignant as the 42-year-old royal continues her recovery from cancer; Prince William has described 2024 as ‘probably the hardest year of my life’

Other royals also in attendance included Zara Tindall, left, alongside her pregnant cousin Princess Beatrice, right, and her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi and his young son Wolfie
‘He’s taken it well and is going along with the joke, he’s not actually met any of the royals, but he thought he was sitting behind Richard from the Richard and Judy show.
‘He called me on Christmas Day and he said his phone just hasn’t stopped because people have been reading and seeing it online.’
Chris told MailOnline:’It was a bit of a shock to wake up Christmas Eve and see myself all over the news and it’s not all over the world I’m seeing.
‘To be honest I’ve never noticed the likeness but my mum has been mentioning it a lot ever since I grew my beard but that’s mum’s for you.
‘I’ve taken a lot of ribbing from friends and I’ve promised the guys at the squadron a crate of beer, they all think it’s hilarious.
‘They have been calling me Sgt Harry and Sgt Windsor and making fun but it’s all good humour – someone suggested I should try my luck as a look-a-like.
‘When I was there some of the police and security gave me a double take but I’m not sure it was because I look like Prince Harry.
‘The event was so moving and it was a privilege to be asked to take part, it was formal but informal at the same time.
‘I’ve never met Harry, in fact the only royal I’ve met was Prince Philip a few years ago. The only resemblance I can see with Harry is the ginger beard and thinning hair.’
