Prince Harry reveals the trait daughter Lilibet has got from Meghan – as he makes rare comment about his two children
Prince Harry has revealed Princess Lilibet has her mother Meghan Markle’s ‘thick hair’ and that it’s so long ‘she can almost sit on it’.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, made the rare comment about his daughter as he attended the WellChild Awards in London.
‘Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair… it won’t be long until Lili can sit on hers,’ he said, according to one attendee.
Harry also added that his ‘wonderful’ wife Meghan was ‘holding the fort’ with their two children as well as their dogs which he added ‘are not quite house trained’ according to Hello!
Meghan remained at the couple’s Montecito home while Harry appeared at ten solo engagements over 15 days without his wife on a ‘quasi-royal tour’ across New York, London and Lesotho.
Meghan – who shares Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, with the Duke of Sussex – however, was seen at the LA Children’s Hospital gala on Saturday.

Harry could be seen conversing with inspiring children bravely battling illness, including a child named George, who has a passion for powerchair football and disability inclusion in sports.
It is one of the few UK-based events he supports in person post-Megxit. The bash celebrates the achievements and resilience of seriously ill children and their families.

The duke and duchess of Sussex are rarely seen with their children, Archie and Lili, who they prefer to keep out of the spotlight.
The youngster’s have previously made brief appearances, in the Sussexes’ documentary and in their Christmas cards.
While the couple’s daughter, Lilibet, may resemble her mother’s hair in length, rare pictures show the toddler as having blonde hair.
Meanwhile, Archie is said to resemble his father with ginger tresses.
Prince Harry previously revealed during at interview with The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2023, that genes for red hair ran strong in his family.
He said: ‘The Spencer gene is very, very strong. I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes, but I was wrong!’

Prior to his appearance at the WellAwards, the Prince has also appeared at events in New York showcasing two of his initiatives, one supporting the southern African country of Lesotho and another promoting his sustainable tourism charity.

WellChild chief executive Matt James said Harry’s involvement with the charity was ‘huge for us’.
He added: ‘It does two things, it allows us to give our inspiring winners a night they will never forget, a night that will always stay with them.
‘But also, it provides us with a platform to tell their stories which is really important for a group of families whose challenges often go unrecognised and misunderstood.’
The awards celebrate the inspiring qualities of some of the country’s seriously ill young people and the dedication of those who keep them healthy and happy, including health, social care and education professionals.
In past years Harry has been joined by wife Meghan but travelled alone to London from their home in the celebrity enclave of Montecito in California where the couple established a new life for themselves and their children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
