Prince Harry proved he was a man for all nations as he joined in the raucous celebrations with fans from four countries – and other royals.

On the penultimate day of the Invictus Games he joined in the chanting, singing and flag waving at the sitting volleyball matches.

Such was his popularity among the crowd that his security guards had to step in and move people away who were crowding round to snatch a selfie.

The Prince first joined a small group of Nigerian supporters and at one point sandwiched himself between two women and draped his hands round their shoulders.

He next moved on to the Danish supporters decked out in red and white – and many wearing Viking style twin horned hats.

He chatted with Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Princess Marie as they stood courtside.

Harry next moved across the volleyball court at the Vancouver Convention Centre to meet and greet a small group of supporters from Lithuania.

As the bounced up and down to Harry joined in the fun.

Harry next moved across the volleyball court at the Vancouver Convention Centre to meet and greet a small group of supporters from Lithuania

He later sat down to talk to paraplegic Josh Vander-Vies but he said much of their conversation was drowned out by the boisterous crowd.

Flanked by his burly security guard Harry moved to a new court where to show his support for the Canadian team who were taking on team UK.

Several fans attempted to get too close to the Prince in to try and get the perfect selfie.

This prompted his security to usher him out before he had a chance to join the dozens of Team UK family and friends.

Harry is due to attend further sitting volleyball matches and present the medals at the final later tonight.

Earlier yesterday the 40-year-old showed that he has not lost his military humour as he made a former US Marine laugh by telling a risqué joke about snowmen – even though the veteran had to battle testicular cancer.

The former soldier had challenged Harry, who served two tours in Afghanistan, to come up with his best ‘bad joke’ when they met at a breakfast meeting earlier his week.

Michael Harrod recalled the joke after bumping into Harry at a swimming event held at the UBC Aquatics Centre where the Prince posed with the US stars and stripes flag.

He said: ‘He asked me: ‘What is the difference between snow men and snow women? Snowballs!’ Everyone laughed.

‘I’d already told him a joke my son made up and told him he owed me one back, so after he’d met a couple of other people he came back and found me.’

Michael found the joke about snowballs particularly funny as in 2022 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

He chose an aggressive approach to treatment and supported by his family, including his son who gave him the nickname ‘Single Jingle.’ He is competing in the swimming, sitting volleyball and alpine skiing at the games.
