M&S floral maxi skirt hailed ‘retro perfection’ and ‘so flattering’

Marks and Spencer shoppers have found a maxi skirt that they ‘cannot wait to wear’ and it’s proving so popular that sizes are selling out quickly. The Floral Maxi Column Skirt features a black background adorned with pretty red flowers to create a design that can easily be dressed up or down. Retailing for £35, it is crafted from a lightweight and breathable fabric, with the comfortable elasticated waistband earning bonus points with customers.
One person left a review that reads: “A very striking skirt. Pleased to obtain it in petite size. Being of a certain age I love the elasticated waist band which is extremely comfortable.” Designed with a flattering column silhouette it can be paired with a T-shirt for a daytime outfit, or worn with a blouse and cardigan in the evening if you have a more formal affair. We would recommend keeping the top half plain to allow the ‘striking’ floral print to stand out.
A printed maxi skirt is an ideal staple to incorporate into your spring and summer wardrobe as they tend to be both comfortable as as well as fashionable. Other options that have caught our eye include this £38 Blue Gingham Drop Waist Maxi Skirt from Next and Boden’s £90 Nadia Double Cloth Maxi Skirt.
But, if it’s the Marks and Spencer Floral Maxi Column Skirt that you are keen on, you can get it for £35 here. It has recieved an influx of positive reviews. One person said:”Lovely skirt, colouful floral fabric, so flattering.”
And a second wrote: “Just a fab skirt. The colours are gorgeous and so is the skirt. Fits well and true to size.”
However, someone else noted that it ‘comes up big’, so that’s well worth considering when you choose your size. Another customer found it quite long, explaining: “Although I am 5’3 tall , ordered the short length, which unfortunately reaches my ankles! I have decided to keep it as I like the skirt. However I will need to take several inches off. I can’t be the only person who is this height!”
One shopper who labelled the skirt ‘retro perfection’ went on to write: “I’m thrilled with this skirt, my only criticism would be that the crepe fabric is a little thin. It’s not transparent whilst wearing though or anything like that. This is the skirt when teenage me wished I owned in the nineties. I’m loving wearing it dressed down with tennis shoes and a red/black jumper. Utterly wonderful, wear all the time wardrobe perfection. True to size, 5’7 but bought a tall, and it hits just below ankle which is what I wanted.”
