Meghan Markle’s former BFF Jessica Mulroney arrives in London just one week before coronation

Jessica Mulroney, the one-time best pal of Meghan Markle, has touched down in London just a week before King Charles’s coronation.

The Canadian stylist, 43, who has previously been very close to the Duchess of Sussex, revealed on Instagram last night that she has boarded a flight from Toronto to London today.

Her visit, just eight days before King Charles’s coronation, comes as the Duchess herself will miss out on the Westminster Abbey ceremony.

While Prince Harry, 38, will attend the coronation celebration in London, Meghan will remain at home in Montecito, California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as little Archie celebrates his fourth birthday.

As she touched down today with her husband Ben, Jessica looked fresh despite getting off a long-haul flight.

She rocked airport chic in a double denim outfit comprised of blue skinny jeans and a blue denim jacket.

Jessica showed she was prepared for the unseasonably chilly temperatures in the UK by layering up with a short trench jacket.

As she strutted through arrivals in aviator sunglasses, the stylist also carried a longer coat in her arms.

It is unclear what Jessica’s plans are when she arrives in London, but she is arriving just in time to join a coronation street party.

Posting a photo of the screen in front of her as she boarded the Air Canada flight last night, she wrote: ‘Bye Toronto!’ and signalled she was going to sleep.

The screen showed a ‘London guide’ which included a photo of Big Ben – which is just yards away from Westminster Abbey, where the coronation will be held. 

Jessica and Meghan have previously been very close friends, having met while the Duchess was just starting out on Suits.

However the pals appeared to become more distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding white privilege while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Since the awkward moment, mother-of-three Jessica has kept quiet on her relationship with Meghan. 

Last month, Jessica shared photos on Instagram which showed her having fun with pals on her birthday night out. 

She captioned the post: ‘I’m not a big birthday girl but this year I wanted to celebrate some of the women that have loved and stood by me unconditionally.

‘I am so lucky to have so many smart girls in my life. And you too Ryan. I’m a lucky lady.’

Jessica’s visit to London comes as Meghan’s pal Gayle King has insisted the Sussexes are in a ‘really good place’.

The presenter claimed that the Sussexes are happier than ever despite the continuing tensions with the Royal Family following their Netflix documentary and Harry’s memoir Spare.

She told US Weekly: ‘I think they make the decision that’s best for them. But I think — as [far as] his dad [Charles] — I’m glad he’s going’.

After the couple cuddled up watching the LA Lakers this week, but Meghan shunned a public kiss from Harry on the jumbotron, Gayle said: ‘You’ve seen the two of them together and I know what they have is really true-blue. And it’s good to see the happiness that they give each other’.
