Meghan Markle’s Beagle Mamma Mia appears in Abigail Spencer’s gushing post about new jam – hinting the Duchess might be hand delivering American Riviera Orchard product to her inner circle
Meghan Markle‘s dog Mamma Mia made a surprise appearance in photos with her friend Abigail Spencer this weekend.
The royal, 42, has gifted jars of her limited edition American Riviera Orchard jam to her inner circle, with Harry’s polo player pal Nacho Figueras, actress Tracee Ellis Ross and activist Kelly McKee Zajfen among the select few to get a jar.
The latest influencer to pose with the sweet jam is Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail, 42, who posted a photo to Instagram from a luscious garden with the strawberry preserve in her hand.
‘This jam is my jam,’ she told her followers. ‘A delicious taste of what’s to come indeed… love you so M.’
The post included two photos of Abigail lying on the grass with a beagle, which followers have quickly realised is Mamma Mia, a dog Harry and Meghan rescued in 2022.

The nine-year-old dog was once one of 4000 beagles that had been bred at the Envigo breeding and research facility in Virginia and set to to be sold for use in pharmaceutical and biotech research.
U.S. Department of Agriculture officials inspected the unit and found a female beagle whose paw had been trapped in loose flooring for so long that she was suffering from dehydration, according to court documents.
Employees at the facility admitted to inspectors they did not know how long she had been stuck. Another inspection found that nine injured beagles were euthanized instead of being provided with veterinary care.
On a later inspection it was found that many of the 196 beagles who had actually needed to be put down were not anaesthetised before having a deadly injection straight into their heart muscle, leading to a federal judge approving a plan to rescue the beagles. The dogs were then transferred to the Humane Society of the United States, before being moved to shelters or groups such as the Beagle Freedom Project.
Mamma Mia was then rescued in July 2022 and taken in by the Beagle Freedom Project charity, with Harry and Meghan giving her a forever home a month later.
The presence of Mamma Mia suggests the snap may have been taken in Meghan’s Montecito garden, or Meghan was visiting Abigail with the pet in tow.

Some fans have speculated Meghan even took the snap herself.
Abigail, who is best known for her roles in Grey’s Anatomy, is the sixth person to share a photo with the Duchess’s jam.
The post comes after Meghan and Abigail were seen beaming together in a series of Instagram pictures to support friend Kelly McKee Zajfen’s new Mother’s Day campaign for her charity ‘Alliance of Moms.’
Kelly, 44, also received one of the coveted jams and gushed over it on social media, saying last week how she was ‘so proud’ of the Duchess.
The Duchess of Sussex sent friends the limited-edition jar ahead of the formal launch of her brand later this spring with a range of items.
The majority of the 50 recipients have yet to publicly acknowledge the merch drop.
But Abigail showcased her pal’s gift, which was presented in a bowl of lemon’s surrounded by flowers, in a photoshoot today.

Smiling in a sunny garden with her dog, the Grey’s Anatomy star displayed the ceramic bowl for all to see.
‘This jam is my jam,’ she told her followers. ‘A delicious taste of what’s to come indeed… love you so M.’
Her post appeared to be well-received among her followers, with actress Mindy Kaling even commenting that it was ‘like an ad for sunshine and happiness’.
American jewellery designer Maya Brenner, whose brand became famous worldwide when Meghan was spotted wearing a necklace with an ‘M’ and ‘H’ charm back in 2016, also commented Abigail’s post.
She said: ‘This is just the prettiest pic. And our Love Retreat necklace collaboration making an appearance.’
It comes as Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras, dubbed by Tatler as ‘the David Beckham of polo’ posted snaps of himself spreading the jam on a piece of buttered toast and biting into it on Instagram – just days after his wife Delfina Blaquier first promoted the product.

Award-winning actress and comedy writer Mindy Kaling and actress Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of Diana Ross, have both revealed they have been gifted jars of the jam as the Duchess prepares to launch her lifestyle brand.
Fashion designer Tracy Robbins also shared a snap of the bottle.
As Meghan’s A-List pals join the promotion for her new lifestyle brand, it may give some insight into the Duchess’s target audience.
Animal-lover Meghan has adopted a number of rescue dogs over the past few years and brought her American rescue beagle Guy to the UK when she married Harry.
The former actress chose animal welfare charity Mayhew as one of her first patronages.
When she moved to England to be with Harry she had to leave Bogart – a Labrador-shepherd mix – in the US.
Meghan has previously said the pair of rescue dogs ‘mean the absolute world’ to her and has referred to them as ‘my loves’ and ‘my boys‘.
Guy and Bogart regularly featured on her Instagram account, with Guy even appearing in a patriotic knitted Union flag jumper.
Meghan often used the ‘#adoptdontshop’ hashtag in her Instagram posts.
It was American comedian and chat show host Ellen DeGeneres who convinced Meghan to adopt Bogart, her first pet, after she bumped into her in a shelter.
While living in the UK, Meghan and Harry adopted a Labrador named Pula. The family also have chickens, which were rescued from a factory farm.
