Meghan Markle teases appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show as she reveals the essential item she travels with to make sure she ‘shows up’ for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet

The Duchess of Sussex has revealed that she records herself reading a bedtime story for her children when travelling for work.
Montecito-based Meghan Markle told Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show about her parenting style, noting that she adopts the approach because her children, Archie and Lilbet, are just five and three.
The mother-of-two is set to feature on the show, which aims to bring heartfelt conversations with special guests, on Thursday to promote her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
Meghan teased her appearance on the programme yesterday on her Instagram Stories – as she revealed that she ‘filmed something fun in the city today’.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a clip of her walking in a hallway from behind while dressed in a pair of wide-leg trousers and a simple white vest, which was the same outfit she wore on the show, with the words: ‘Filmed something fun in the city today’.
Drew took to Instagram today to share the news, writing: ‘@meghan on being a working mom & her new show, ‘With Love, Meghan.’ Tune in Thursday (3/6) for more!’
A preview from the pre-recorded episode accompanied the caption, which saw Meghan explaining her approach to the 50 First Dates actress.
‘I always make it a point when I’m travelling, if I can’t do bedtime stories with my kids, because Archie and Lili are just three and five, so I’ll always pack a really thin book and I’ll video tape myself reading it’, Meghan, dressed in a sleeveless cream jumper, said in the video.

She added that by doing so, her husband, Prince Harry, can pull out the recording and show it to their children before bedtime: ‘So, whoever’s with them, or Papa can say, ”here’s mama reading you’re bedtime story’.’
Meghan added: ‘You find ways to show up to each other, and that’s the one thing I can convey through the show, or through As Ever as a brand, I want people to know you can show up for each other because you know how it feels when someone shows up for you.’

A scathing one star reviewer quipped: ‘This isn’t even a fun hate watch. It’s just bad.’
A fellow low scorer said watching With Love was the ‘worst few minutes of my life’.
‘Couldn’t watch the first episode. So boring I wanted to go into a coma. Nothing new, nothing innovative. nothing interesting. Can’t put myself through anymore. I give up. I’m crying Uncle!!!’
A third labelled it ‘too superficial and shallow’ saying: ‘It’s not a good cooking show, nor an interesting design show… it’s a pure ego-trip! Very uncomfortable to watch. An absolute waste of time.’
It doesn’t get much better on IMDb where it has a 2.6 out of 10 rating from more than 1,000 reviews.

Now, the couple will be desperate for Meghan’s new show to be a hit as questions remain over the future of their Netflix deal if their content is not popular enough.
Experts say a lack of revelations from the Sussexes about the monarchy – which were a major feature of their 2022 show – will likely lead to less interest from viewers.
While Harry and Meghan are hoping the new show will be a hit, reception in Britain has been poor so far and it is unclear whether it will be the success they desire.
The series was slammed by TV reviewers yesterday as ‘gormless lifestyle filler’ with a ‘tangible desperation’ as well as being ‘so awful it is almost compelling’.
In Amanda Platell’s Mail+ column, which you can read here, she said Harry would be as ‘desperate’ as Meghan for the show to be successful so they can continue their ‘millionaire LA lifestyles’.
Others from left-leaning publications such as the Guardian have warned this could be the last show Meghan and her husband Prince Harry ever make for Netflix if it is not a ratings success – describing it as ‘pointless‘.
One said it shows the Duchess is ‘attempting to cling to fame by any means possible’, while another described how she was ‘joylessly filling kids’ party bags with seeds’.
Reacting to the negative reception, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told MailOnline: ‘This, after the Hearts of Invictus series failed to grab viewers’ attention and the Polo series predictably didn’t either, is make or break for Meghan.

But Mr Fitzwilliams said Meghan had ‘positioned herself as some form of influencer’ and had success with her lifestyle blog The Tig before she married Harry.
He added: ‘Who will watch apart from the fans? Perhaps a few stay at home moms who can afford the luxury which Meghan obviously worships.
‘At the moment she and Harry can too. However, after spending four hours watching a series as bad as this, one has to ask, for how much longer?’
Mr Fitzwilliams also pointed out that Harry and Meghan’s contract with Netflix was previously ‘useful to the streaming giant as they were also releasing episodes of The Crown‘, but that the streaming network will have ‘undoubtedly been disillusioned with the Sussexes’ failure to come up with a money maker’.
