Meghan Markle makes one ‘major miss’ during latest trip and there’s a reason why | Royal | News
Meghan Markle was hailed for being “chic, sophisticated and modern” during her quasi-royal tour of Colombia.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent four days in the South American country following an invitation by Colombian Vice President Francia Marquez.
Fashionistas went wild for every single one of Meghan’s outfits as the duchess sported a wide range of designers, including Colombian ones and opted for effortless and elegant silhouettes, appropriate for each engagement.
Now a fashion expert had praised the duchess for providing a “masterclass” on “how to stand out” in neutrals, however, they pointed out there was one occasion when her outfit did not quite match the rest of her wardrobe.
Here, Express.co.uk takes a look at Meghan’s top outfit from Colombia, her less favourable one and the overall style choices she made in the South American country.
Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, told Express.co.uk: “Meghan has long been an advocate for less-is-more fashion, leaning towards neutral tones and classic silhouette. During the four-day tour in Colombia, she provided a masterclass on how to stand out without reaching for a bold print, bright colour or statement jewellery, staying true to her California cool girl vibe.”
She said: “The dress featured a small midriff cut-out and a ‘Navajo tweed’ print in browns and reds, showing off her modern tendencies and love for artisanal pieces. The sweetheart neckline and straps were a nod to an elegant summer style.” Meghan’s other two top outfits in Colombia, according to the fashion expert, were the brown ensemble she wore, also on Day 1, to attend the Responsible Digital Future forum and the head-to-toe white look she opted for on Day 3 to visit the historic San Basilio de Palenque.
