Laura Mericer product for flawless skin is now even cheaper
I’ve tried many different methods of setting my make-up in place, but powder hasn’t always been a part of my make-up routine. A few years ago, I was looking for a way to keep my make-up in place for extended periods of time, and a friend recommended I try a loose powder, so I decided to go for the one I’d heard the most about, which was the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I was hesitant due to the premium price point, but noted the sizeable pot the product comes in, and decided to give it a try.
The product has now become one of my most used – from the first application I loved the smooth finish it gave to my make-up, and it hasn’t let me down since. The texture is super lightweight, so it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, instead it feels like it blends into the foundation, rather than sitting on top.
Usually, I’d pick it up at Boots, where the product retails for £38.50. The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is also available at Boots, which currently has an offer to save 20% off using code SAVE20, reducing the price from £38.50 to £30.80. However, I’ve found somewhere you can buy it for even less.
The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is sold at several retailers including Lookfantastic, which has reduced the price by 22% from £38.50 to £29.95.
This is also cheaper than buying the powder directly from the Laura Mercier website, where it’s also currently retailing for £38.50.
The benefits of using a powder include controlling oil, mattifying makeup, and smoothing over texture to even out the look and feel of the skin.
There are three shades to choose from, but I always use the translucent shade, which is universal and blends in with your skin tone, and it creates a long-lasting, blurring effect leaving you with flawless skin, but without changing the shade of your make-up underneath.
On the Lookfantastic website, the powder is described as: “An illuminating twist on traditional setting powders. Aside from keeping your makeup set for 16 hours, the powder uses pearl pigments to grace the skin with a naturally radiant finish. Enriched with vitamins C and E, the powder adds a touch of sheer coverage to promote a seamless matte finish.”
Although the price point may seem expensive at first, the product lasts a long time, as you only need the tiniest amount each time, and with the discount especially, it is actually pretty good value.
The only negative is the packaging – the pot can create a mess, as when you open it some of the powder will often fall out.
I’ve also found that the sifter inside isn’t the easiest to use. There are ways around this, for example, you can transfer the produce into a different container though.
Lookfantastic shoppers have left over 1,800 reviews on the product, with over 96% recommending it. One shopper said: ”If you haven’t tried this setting powder before you need to. The best powder lasts all day and holds your makeup perfectly. Must have in your makeup bag.”
Another commented: ”I always use this to set my under-eye makeup. This is a repurchase for me and I can’t imagine using anything else.”
While a third added: ”I have used this for years, makeup and skin looks flawless, lasts for hours.”
If you don’t want to commit to the full-size version and instead want to try it as part of your make-up rotation, you can buy the travel-sized powder at Sephora for £21.50.
