Is Travis Kelce plotting a tell-all BOOK? Taylor Swift’s boyfriend sits down with PRINCE HARRY’S Spare ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer for tell-all interview about his romance with popstar – and his ‘life after the NFL’
Is Travis Kelce gearing up to release his own Prince Harry style tell-all about his romance with Taylor Swift?
The NFL star, 34, not-so-subtly opened the door to much speculation about his plans for a memoir when he sat down for an interview with none other than Prince Harry‘s ghostwriter, J.R. Moehringer, in which he shared a slew of intimate details regarding his and Taylor’s highly publicized relationship for the first time.
It seems as though J.R., 58, certainly hit it off with Travis, given that the athlete – who has stayed mostly tight lipped about the relationship up until now – kept little to himself during their sit-down.
He dished on everything from how he and the singer, 33, first connected after his failed attempt to slip her his number at her show to what really goes on during their dates (hint, in involves drunken karaoke).

Exactly how the Pulitzer Prize winning-author got the sports sensation to share so much about the courtship that has attracted the attention of millions is not known, but what is clear is that the two formed a strong bond during the interview.
‘”I don’t know if I want to get into all of it,” he says, and then he gets into it,’ J.R. coyly writes of Travis’ reaction to him asking about Taylor.
Interestingly, J.R. also managed to get Travis to open up about a subject that he apparently refuses to discuss with his closest friends: retirement from the NFL.
‘…They all say Trav lives in the moment, Trav never thinks about tomorrow, Trav never worries about retirement, despite recently turning 34, making him a Gollum in the NFL, whereas Kelce confesses that he thinks about it nonstop, “more than anyone could ever imagine,”‘ J.R. writes, adding that the tight end is in ’round-the-clock physical anguish’ as a result of the injuries he regularly sustains on the field.

Although Travis did not reveal his plans for life after the NFL, given the incredible global reaction to his relationship with Taylor, it seems a book would not be out of the question – particularly one that would reveal the kinds of illuminating details about their romance that he shared with J.R.
The very-revealing interview was done for the Wall Street Journal‘s upcoming December/January Issue, which will feature Travis on the cover – a publication that J.R. does not normally write for.
J.R. is best known for being the ghostwriter behind the Duke of Sussex’s explosive biography, Spare, which came out in January 2023 and quickly became one of the most talked-about books on the planet.
Throughout the tome, Prince Harry made a slew of shocking admissions about growing up as part of the royal family.
But J.R.’s career stretches long before he paired up with Harry – in fact, by the time they worked on Spare together, he had already racked up an impressive list of achievements.
After graduating from Yale University in 1986, J.R.. who was born in New York City but spent most of his childhood in Scottsdale, Arizona, started his career off as a news assistant at the New York Times.
In 1994, he landed a job as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, and he received the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Writing in 2000.

Then, in 2005, he released a memoir, called The Tender Bar, which was wildly popular and was eventually turned into a film of the same name in 2022, which was directed by George Clooney and starred Ben Affleck.
In addition, J.R. penned the 2012 novel Sutton, which is based on the life of notorious bank robber William Francis Sutton Jr., who stole an estimated $2 million and escaped prison three times throughout his life.
Spare wasn’t the first time he worked as a ghostwriter, as he also previously helped Andre Agassi pen his 2009 memoir Open, and teamed up with Nike founder Phil Knight for his 2016 memoir Shoe Dog.
During J.R.’s WSJ interview with Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs player revealed that someone in the Cruel Summer songstress’ team helped set them up after he spoke about wanting to give her his number on his podcast.
Back in September, he had revealed how he had his digits inscribed onto a bracelet that he was planning to give to her when he attended her sold-out show at Arrowhead Stadium in July, but that he was disappointed because he never got the chance.
Travis told J.R. that there were people ‘in her corner’ who ‘knew who he was,’ heard the podcast, and told her about it.
‘I had somebody playing Cupid,’ he dished.
He said they spent a little while ‘talking’ before they decided to meet up secretly in New York.
‘Everybody around me telling me: “Don’t f**k this up.” And [I was] sitting there saying: “Yeah – got it,”‘ recalled Travis.

The footballer also dished on the pressure he has faced while trying to manage the newfound attention that has come with the romance, while also making sure he doesn’t share too much.
‘That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away,’ he continued.
‘Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them. I’ve never dealt with it. But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.
‘The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.’
During the interview, Travis described Taylor as ‘hilarious’ and a ‘genius,’ adding, ‘Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f**king mind-blowing. I’m learning every day.’
Travis also revealed how he and Taylor once belted out the Wheatus track Teenage Dirtbag together at a late night party at his house in Kansas City.
‘There was some wine involved, for sure,’ he admitted.
