I’m a fashion writer – my top picks from Seasalt Cornwall for February

Seasalt Cornwall is known for its range of classic, everyday pieces that are a perfect combination of practical and stylish. It now has 75 stores in the UK and Ireland – but while there isn’t one in every town, the full range is available online. There’s also currently a sale on with up to 50% off hundreds of pieces.

The clothing does take some influence from trends, however, I like that it focuses on timeless staples with an emphasis on lasting quality. The prices reflect this, so admittedly the pieces are more of an investment. However, given how much wear you’ll get out of them, I think it’s worth it. 

The brand also gets brownie points for inclusive sizing, running from 8-26 and there many styles come in tall and petite fits. My 5″11 friend loves that its trousers don’t flap around her ankles.

One of Seasalt’s claims to fame is its waterproof jacket range, which unlike many ‘showerproof’ high street options, will keep you dry in the heaviest of downpours (the brand’s Cornish roots means it’s an expert on rainy, windy weather). Sustainability is a priority, with an effort to use traceable materials, as well as ranges made from organic and recycled fabrics. 

Pattern fans will find plenty to love too, with lots of nature and maritime-inspired designs that won’t date. 

I’ve rounded up my top picks from Seasalt’s online range to enhance your wardrobe for the upcoming spring season.

Knitted vests have become popular in recent years, as has the combination of pink and red. This £57.95 knitted vest combines the two trends into a wearable piece that makes a statement. As spring looms, an injection of colour is made easy with a vest, as it can be worn over a neutral outfit for an added burst of colour.

I’d style this with a white t-shirt underneath, jeans and trainers, but if you had a plain black or white dress already in your wardrobe, that would be a good option to layer underneath too.

There may be plenty of raincoats available from a variety of high street brands, but surprisingly many of them aren’t fully waterproof. Seasalt’s are popular for their genuinely waterproof designs, and the Janelle Waterproof Raincoat is no different – it does cost £170 for most of the colours but it will last you for years – however the blue-green ‘lichen’ shade is now slashed to £99.95 in the sale.

The brand’s coats are put through testing to determine how much water the material can withstand before leaking and given a rating based on this. This coat has a 5000mm rating, meaning it’s fully waterproof and will keep you dry on wet and windy days, and it’s also highly-rated for breathability.

Zipped pockets, a detachable hood, fleece lining and reflective strips make this a practical choice against the elements, whether it’s for dog walks, popping to the shops or a stroll around town. 

When it comes to spring layering, a denim jacket is an effortless throw-on-and-go option. The Ballad Denim Jacket is mid-length in structured denim. The dark indigo shade is reduced from £75.95 to £42.95 and has a slightly washed look, offering an updated take on the classic denim jacket, which would pair perfectly with tan or cream accessories.

The jacket also comes in three other shades, including a tobacco colour, which is still full price at £79.95; teal, which is now £45.95; and brown, which is reduced to the bargain price of £25.95 but almost sold out.

Wide leg jeans are one of the most comfortable, versatile pieces you can buy, and I find myself reaching for them for all different occasions.

Described as ’70’s inspired’, £69.95 Seasalt’s Sennen Cove Wide Leg Jeans aren’t the cheapest money can buy, but the breathable cotton and hemp material is likely to make for comfortable wear, and there are two timeless shades to choose from. 

Seasalt often brings out new prints, and the green shades on this artsy organic cotton blouse are inspired by paint streaks. In the sale, you can get 40% off the top, reducing it to £35.95.

Little details like smocked cuffs and the frilled neckline elevate the style even further, so it can be dressed up or down. It’s also smart enough for workwear, so it could be a hardworking piece in your wardrobe. 

A t-shirt dress is an easy piece that’s super versatile in any wardrobe, and this design has flattering waist pleats, a scoop neckline and handy pockets. There are teal and khaki shades to choose from which at full price cost £75.95, but you can buy the khaki shade for £42.95 now. If I were to invest in the dress, I’d probably style it with a denim jacket and white trainers for spring and summer, and a gilet and boots for autumn.

The fisherman aesthetic is a predicted trend for 2025, and refers to the popularity of incorporating netted bags, cable knit, boat shoes and raincoats – or anything else that could be considered a nod to traditional maritime wear. Seasalt’s nautical-inspired clothing is ideal for the trend, including the Forest Ridge Cable Knit Collared Cardigan, which costs £85.95 and comes in a choice of five colours, from summer brights to spring-like pastel tones.

Seasalt has slashed the prices of the cardigan in the sale – the red shade is now £62.95, the purple is £49.95, and the green is £47.95.

A pair of linen trousers is an essential for spring and summer, especially when you don’t fancy the stiffness of jeans. This Seasalt pair comes in pink or beige, with a tuned-up cuff and slightly cropped length. The waist is elasticated so they’re easy to pull on, and stretchy for comfort. They cost £75.95, and I’d style them with a simple plain t-shirt and a denim jacket – the breathable linen material is also ideal for both the UK and abroad.

There are a few other brands that rival Seasalt’s clothing range, including Boden, which has just launched a colourful new collection. The boho-inspired range includes bold and bright prints from graphic florals to paisley.
