Prince Harry

Disaster strikes Prince Harry’s right hand man as Nacho Figueras slips from his horse during polo game with wife Delfina Blaquier at Magic Millions

Nacho Figueras barely managed to stay on his horse on Sunday as he played a game of polo on the Gold Coast with his wife Delfina Blaquier.

Prince Harry‘s right hand man, 46, almost lost his balance completely as he reached down to strike the ball and took a tumble instead.

In a shocking display at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping show, the Argentine model could be seen clinging to the neck of his polo pony.

Hanging on for dear life as his horse continued to canter across the field, the polo star clung to the reigns and his mallet as best he could.

Spectators watched on in horror as it appeared the socialite would be thrown completely from his horse.

However, Nacho pulled off the impossible and managed to right himself back up onto his saddle to continue the game.

Meanwhile, his photographer wife, 43, kept a sturdy seat on her horse throughout the entire match as she rocked a bright pink helmet.

Nacho – real name Ignacio Figueras Bermejo – touched down in Australia for the Magic Millions show on Thursday with his wife and their daughter Alba

He has been making headlines over the past few years for his close friendship with Prince Harry.

It’s thought their friendship dates back to 2007 – so perhaps it’s no surprise he has become a supportive figure in Harry’s new life away from the Royal Family.

They have played polo alongside one another in various matches over the years, and Nacho has become one of Harry and Meghan Markle‘s most vocal supporters, praising them in interviews.

The father-of-four – dubbed the ‘David Beckham of Polo’ – was also among a handful of the Duke and Duchess’s closest confidantes who appeared in the couple’s Netflix documentary.

His closeness to the couple is despite his public openness about his friendship with Harry and Meghan, who has previously insisted her family has a ‘basic right to privacy’, as well as the launch of a royal-inspired scent.

In September 2019, Nacho – who witnessed the early days of the couple’s romance and was later a guest at their wedding – appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show to announce that he would ‘defend his friends’ with his life.

The millionaire appears totally at ease with mentioning his friendship with the royal in interviews, for in that same year, he told Town and Country magazine: ‘What I like the most about Harry is how real he is and how serious he is about improving life for kids that have not had the blessings that we’ve had.’
