Could Prince Harry return to the UK in May? Duke may attend the Invictus Games 10th anniversary service in London, source claims – after flying visit to cancer-stricken King Charles

Prince Harry could be set for another return to the UK just weeks after a rushed visit to see his father King Charles, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The Duke of Sussex‘ trip to London lasted just 24 hours – but the royal, 39, could return within weeks for a service to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Harry launched the games back in March 2014 at the Copper Box arena in London and celebrations for the 10th anniversary will be marked at St Paul’s Cathedral.

A source told The Express: ‘Harry has indicated that he is comfortable coming back for a British-based Invictus Games and we understand that the Games have always had the support of the rest of the Royal Family‘.

Harry returned to Heathrow last Tuesday, just 24 hours after being driven from the same airport to Clarence House under a police escort the day before.

The Duke flew into London on a ten-hour flight from Los Angeles and arrived at the royal residence at 2.42pm before spending around 45 minutes with Charles.

However, despite his return to LA Harry and Meghan were no shows at last night’s star-studded Super Bowl game in Las vegas, despite the duke’s recent appearance at an NFL awards event.

The couple were rumoured to join the many A-list celebrities – including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jay Z and Sir Paul McCartney – at the biggest American Football game of the year, which took place in Las Vegas.

But the pair were noticeably absent from the festivities ahead of a trip to Canada for the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in a matter of days.

Last night saw the Kansas City Chiefs win with a last-minute overtime touch down in a nail-biting game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Last week, Prince Harry made an appearance at the NFL Honours which was also held in Sin City after returning from a whistle-stop trip to the UK to visit his cancer-stricken father.

At the awards ceremony, which came just 24 hours after his flying visit to London, Harry presented the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Cameron Heyward.

Daily Mail Diary editor Richard Eden said last week that Harry and Charles held a ‘brief meeting’ before the King returned to Sandringham.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also said: ‘I’m sure Harry will put aside the past right now for this serious issue. The Royal family – including the Sussexes – it’s so important that everyone is pulling in the right direction’.

Kristina Kyriacou, the King’s former press secretary, added: ‘Charles adores Harry. He didn’t want any of this estrangement. If out of bad news, some good news comes and Harry and the King and the Queen and his brother are reunited – how wonderful’.

The King had been taken to London from Sandringham by helicopter on Monday to begin outpatient cancer treatment.
