Buckingham Palace makes more changes to the Royal Family’s website after stripping Prince Harry’s profile of HRH title

The Royal Family website has introduced more updates, just weeks after it quietly ditched Prince Harry‘s HRH title from his profile page.

The new features, spotted by fan-blog Gert’s Royals, include a drop down menu to associated websites, including The Royal Collection Trust, The Prince’s Trust, The Royal Foundation and The Duke of Edinburgh‘s Award. 

Also added is a section on the King and Queen’s work in their previous titles as Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. 

On X – formerly known as Twitter – Gert also noted that the oldest post in the section is an entry about Charles’ 1969 speech at his investiture.

Earlier this month, a spokesperson said it had been periodically updating the website following the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II and out of date information had now been amended.

‘The Royal Family website contains over five thousand pages of information about the life and work of the Royal Family,’ they said.

‘Following the death of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, content has been revisited and updated periodically. Some content may be out of date until this process is complete.’

Earlier this month, the website removed Harry’s HRH title three years after after the Palace said he and Meghan Markle could retain them, but would not be allowed to use them after stepping down as senior royals. 

Despite this, parts of the site had still referred to Harry as HRH since 2020, when he and the Duchess of Sussex moved to the US – until the apparent error was recently amended. 

A slew of other errors have also been changed – including one that implied Prince Harry, 38, was five-year-old Prince Louis.

Meghan Markle’s official royal biography stripped her of her HRH title three years ago. However, it remained on some sections of the royal website, including on a quote from a speech made in 2019.

It comes following reports that Harry is not planning on seeing Charles or his brother Prince William when he returns to Britain on the eve of the first anniversary of the Queen’s death. It is also understood that the Duke will not be accompanied by his wife Meghan.

Buckingham Palace had earlier this month quietly removed Prince Harry’s title of His Royal Highness from his biography on the Royal Family’s website

Harry is set to fly out from California to London to make an appearance at an event for the charity WellChild, celebrating the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters.

The awards ceremony will take place just a day before the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing on September 8 but the Prince has ‘no intention’ to see his brother or father during his whistle-stop stay, according to insiders.

Sources added that while the poignant date would be a good occasion for the family to ‘settle their differences’ in the ‘late queens memory’ they claimed relations between the Duke, his brother and father, remain ‘firmly rooted at rock bottom’. 

In contrast to last year’s global outpouring of grief and days of state events, there are no public or private family gatherings planned for the anniversary of the Queen who died at Balmoral last year, aged 96, during her traditional summer stay at the castle. 

This summer, the King and Queen are expected to spend the day in private reflection, as they continue on his mother’s tradition staying at the castle, despite usually sleeping at Birkhall, his private residence on the estate.
