Beatrice and Eugenie’s dramatic transformation is due to key new hire | Royal | News
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were cruelly mocked for their chunky frames and mismatched fashions, but the sisters have had somewhat of a style and body renaissance of late.
The York sisters have undergone a complete makeover which has seen them trade ugly dresses for beautiful designs and lose weight in a relatively short space of time.
Now, we can reveal that this remarkable transformation is all down to just one woman – the sister’s Assistant Private Secretary Libby Horsley.
Miss Horsey as she’s affectionally known among Palace staff, has been working tirelessly behind the scenes for the past three years to turn the sisters into what the public sees today.
“Libby is a qualified personal trainer as well as being a bit of a boffin,” the source said. “She’s been putting the sisters through a rather intense workout regime as well as making sure their wardrobe is up to scratch.”
Society stylist Olivia Buckingham was quickly brought on to help the sisters bring together the latest fashions from the likes of Self Portrait, Monique Lhuillier, Vampire’s Wife and Emilia Wickstead. But, sources say, Libby was the brains behind the plan.
“Libby used to work for Andrew at Pitch at the Palace,” the source said. “But her organising skills were second to none and she gets on wonderfully well with both Eugenie and Beatrice, so she jumped over to start working with them.”
Sources add that Libby, who has a degree in accounting from the University of Exeter, and whose main role is to keep the Princesses’ finances in check, has turned out to be a bit of a wonder woman for the sisters.
“Libby has an army background and a degree in accounting,” the source said. “So not only will she be able to floor you with a body roll if you get too close to one of the sisters, but she makes sure they budget and spend their money wisely.”
Just last week, it was revealed that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would be taking on more responsibility within the royal family following the King’s slimmed-down monarchy becoming so thin that there weren’t enough royals to go around. Sources say that the sisters wouldn’t have been able to do it without Libby by their sides.
“Libby has been somewhat instrumental in helping prepare the sisters for life back in the royal fold following all the troubles that went on with their parents,” the source said. “She’s really helped build back their strength both mentally and physically and I don’t know what they would do without her now.”
