Prince Harry and Meghan Markle share romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at upscale Italian restaurant Il Caminetto after a day on the slopes in Whistler, Canada

A beaming Meghan Markle was a lady in red for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner with Prince Harry as they took a break from Invictus Games duties in Whistler, British Columbia Wednesday night.

Exclusive DailyMail.com photos show the couple leaving an upscale Italian restaurant in the picturesque ski resort, with a smiling Meghan seen walking arm-in-arm with Harry to their luxury Ford Expedition SUV.

The couple are in the middle of a three-day schedule of events to promote the 2025 Invictus Games which are taking place in the town next year.

Earlier on Wednesday, they attended an event on the ski slopes of Blackcomb Mountain where they were introduced to some of the athletes taking part in a training camp ahead of the sporting event.

With their two young children, Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, back home in Montecito – Harry and Meghan took the opportunity to enjoy an intimate dinner together at Whistler hotspot Il Caminetto

But it was all romance later that evening with the couple – child-free with Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, back home in Montecito – taking the opportunity to enjoy an intimate dinner together at Whistler hotspot Il Caminetto.

A source told DailyMail.com: ‘They sat in a secluded corner of the main restaurant and were like any other couple on Valentine’s Day.

‘They were both smiling the whole time and kept touching each other’s arms. It was great to see them looking so in love.’

DailyMail.com’s exclusive photos also show the pair looking untroubled by their recent woes, with Meghan smiling broadly as they left the restaurant using a back entrance.

The Duchess, 42, was glamorous in a red coat, black wide leg pants and carried a red clutch bag while Harry, 39, looked sharp in a navy sweater and dark denim jeans.

Il Caminetto is one of the most upscale restaurants in Whistler with specialties that include a prosciutto appetizer for CAD $28.50 (USD $21), a lobster and saffron linguine for CAD $49.50 (USD $36.55) and 10oz New York beef striploin for CAD $74.50 (USD $55).

Pricey drinks include a bottle of Napa Valley Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon priced at CAD $7,800 (USD $5,758), a vintage French Le Mesnil champagne for CAD $1,720 (USD $1,200) and an Italian Tenuto San Guido red that clocks in at an eyewatering CAD $13,999 (USD $10,334).

Their carefree appearance at dinner belied the fact that Meghan and Harry have been the target of criticism going into their Invictus Games engagement due to the launch of their new website Sussex.com and King Charles’ recent cancer diagnosis.

The website, which features Meghan’s royal crest prominently, includes biographies detailing their philanthropic work – including the Invictus Games – as well as highlighting Harry’s credentials as an environmental campaigner.

Those credentials, and his work for eco-travel firm Travelocity, stand in stark contrast to the pair’s penchant for taking private jets – including the chartered VIH Execujet Bombardier plane that brought them to Canada.

The plane, which flew in from its home base in North Saanich, British Columbia, to collect them on Tuesday, was later pictured landing in Vancouver with the couple aboard by DailyMail.com that lunchtime.

That flight was the fifth Prince Harry has taken in just eight days with the first – a British Airways commercial jet – taking him to London a week ago on Monday to see King Charles after news of his cancer diagnosis broke.

After a 30-minute meeting with the King and less than 24 hours in Britain, Harry flew back to the US on another commercial flight – this time with Delta.

Three days later, on Friday, he was in Las Vegas to present an award at the NFL Honors Awards – a televised gala held at Sin City’s vast Resorts World hotel.

Presenting the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to the Pittsburgh Steeler’s Cameron Heyward, he cracked a joke about rugby – telling the crowd: ‘I really love how you stole rugby from us and made it your own.

‘Instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards. Why not wear pads and helmets? Of course. ‘Have an offense and a defense – that makes sense. Why not take a breather every 15 seconds? And you know what? Instead of a 10-month season, let’s make it 18 weeks. Genius.’

Despite his chipper demeanor onstage, Harry was later pictured looking glum in the hotel’s underground parking lot and didn’t stay on to see the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

On Monday came the couple’s relaunched website with Harry’s 358-word biography emphasizing his environmental credentials – despite his penchant for using private jets.

Meghan’s longer bio played up her credentials as a philanthropist but made only one mention of her acting past and none of the Royal family

Critics said the website is an attempt to monetize the couple’s royal connections leading to a new round of calls for the duo to have their titles removed, including from Meghan’s biographer Tom Bower.

The pair are now in Whistler and made a day one appearance on the ski slopes with a glamorously dressed Meghan – in a white sweater and jeans topped with a beige padded jacket – and Harry taking time to talk with para-ski athletes in the resort

They were spotted bending down to talk to athletes competing at the games, while Harry tried out one of the competitors’ sit-skis, all while being followed close behind by a camera crew.

Harry and Meghan made their way out of the gondola on Whistler’s Blackcomb Mountain shortly after 2.30pm and were introduced to three groups of adaptive skiers: one Alpine sit-ski, one standing ski and one group of visually impaired athletes.

A beaming Harry also had a go on a sit-ski device before the pair left the event to a cheering crowd who had gathered at the base of the mountain and serenaded the pair with a rendition of God Save The King as their cars pulled away.

Meghan’s £140,000 ($175,00) engagement ring also made an appearance on Wednesday, nearly a year after it was last seen on her finger.

The Duchess has not been seen publicly wearing the glittering band, comprising one huge Botswana diamond and two from Princess Diana‘s collection since May 2023.

Her ring was conspicuously absent at recent events, such as the premiere of Bob Marley biopic One Love in Kingston, Jamaica last month, and her attendance at the Variety’s Power of Women gala in November 2023.

According to People magazine the reason behind the ring’s long hiatus is that a setting came loose and it needed to be serviced.

Alex Cairns, a sit-skier from Canada, was the first to meet the Sussexes and gave a demonstration of the sport – arriving at the base of the slope to cheers from Harry.

The Whistler games will be the first time that Invictus has featured winter sports.

The couple arrived in Canada on Tuesday and were pictured by DailyMail.com touching down in Vancouver just after noon Pacific time following a two-hour flight from Santa Barbara – the closest airport to their home in Montecito.

Their arrival came on the same day that Meghan announced she had signed a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media after she and Harry parted ways with Spotify.

A convoy of cars collected the famous duo and whisked them away to Whistler where they are due to be on Wednesday and Thursday before they return to Vancouver for an event in the City of Glass on Friday.

The pair are then expected to travel home to California on Friday afternoon to be reunited with their children Archie, five, and Lilibet, two.

Their ‘About’ page reads: ‘The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is shaping the future through business and philanthropy.
