Now ‘wouldn’t be the right time’ for Meghan Markle to release a tell-all memoir about her royal life, a public relations expert has warned the Duchess of Sussex.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared insight into their lives on numerous occasions since moving overseas in early 2020, most recently with Prince Harry‘s memoir Spare.

The book, released in January 2023, made a number of bombshell claims about the Royal Family, with the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English pointing out it made a clear ‘villain’ of Prince William.

It has been widely speculated that Meghan, 42, could be considering a tell-all of her own, after the couple reportedly signed a four book deal with Penguin Random House.

So far, Meghan has published children’s book The Bench, Harry has penned Spare, and it has been rumoured the third book may be a wellness guide written together.

This leaves a fourth, and speculation is rife that Meghan could be planning a memoir of her own.

But Lynn Carratt, from Press Box PR, has warned that early 2024 would not be the right time for its publication, as the public has been ‘overloaded with stories’ about the Duke and Duchess.

Asked about the rumoured publication plan, Ms Carratt told The Mirror: ‘I am sure that is still the plan and it will form part of their deal with Penguin, but timing is everything and 2024 wouldn’t be the right time for its release.

‘There are many things Meghan will want to say and put her side across about.

‘She’ll want [to] talk [about] her marriage to Harry, her relationship with King Charles and Camilla, Kate and William. I’m sure fans would like her to talk about her relationship with her father Thomas, but she isn’t that forthcoming about that side of her life.’

The expert said if Meghan is ‘sensible’ she will be ‘looking for a quieter time in 2024’ to allow a rift created by Spare and Obie Scobie’s Endgame to ‘heal quietly’.

It comes as  the Daily Mail’s royal editor said the Duke of Sussex, 39, surprised audiences by depicting the Prince of Wales, 41, as a villainous figure in his memoir Spare. 

‘We thought it might be the King and the Queen who were the villains of the piece, but it actually turned out to be his older brother,’ Rebecca said.

In conversation with the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden and show host Jo Elvin, Rebecca made a link between William’s villainous depiction and Harry’s detailing of an explosive brotherly argument detailed in the book.

Harry claimed he was left with visible ‘scrapes and bruises’ after allegedly being attacked by his brother. He claimed: ‘[William] grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.’

The father-of-three’s highly anticipated memoir reached bookshelves across the globe in January this year, and it became the biggest selling memoir ever for its first week of publication, according to publishers Transworld, the UK division of Penguin Random House.

From colourful disclosure about Harry’s frost-bitten penis to more serious subjects of a brotherly rift and intricate details of a private argument between Kate Middleton, 41, and Meghan, the book raised eyebrows across the globe.

For Rebecca, it was information about a specific argument between William and Harry that painted the Prince of Wales as a ‘villain’.

‘They did everything together, so to see that explode once and for all so nastily was actually really sad to see,’ Rebecca said. 

She added that the explosive details in Spare have resulted in William’s radio silence towards Harry – a reality unlikely to change any time soon, according to the royal editor.
