‘Doesn’t want anything to do with his brother’: Former royal butler’s eight-word response on how William would feel if Harry apologised

A former royal butler has shed light on just how bad relations are between Prince William and Prince Harry after revealing he doesn’t “see any way back” for the estranged brothers.

Grant Harrold, who worked for the Royal family between 2004 and 2011, sat down on The Royals Uncensored podcast to reveal that he didn’t think it would make a difference if the Duke of Sussex, 41, apologised for airing his relatives’ dirty laundry to the world.

“Even with a public apology, I don’t see any way back now between the two of them,” he claimed.

“From what I’m hearing from the inside, William is still adamant: He doesn’t want anything to do with his brother.”

However, while the Prince of Wales, 44, is said to be staunch in his stance against his brother, his father King Charles is ready to forgive and move on, the insider claims.

“The King, from what I understand, does want some sort of relationship especially with his grandchildren.”

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, 45, stepped back from their duties as senior royals in 2020 and relocated to the United States, where they now reside in Montecito, California.

Since then, the couple have shared a slew of intimate details about their British relatives, making a number of gobsmacking claims in their 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, their Netflix series Harry & Meghan and the Duke’s memoir Spare.

In his 2023 biography, Harry detailed a physical altercation between him and his brother, who he claims knocked him to the ground, breaking a dog bowl, in 2019.

He also alleged that he and William begged his father not to marry Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Consort, and said William’s wife Catherine Middleton was offended by Meghan when she asked to borrow her lip gloss just before an engagement.

In the years since then, Harry and Meghan have been estranged from the Royals.

However, last month, the Sussexes and their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, reunited with the King and Queen at their Highgrove Estate, marking the first time the family had spent time together in four years.

The reunion has sparked hope amongst royal fans that a reconciliation could be on the cards for the family, however multiple sources – including Harrold – claim that William is not yet ready to forgive his brother.

According to royal reporter Mark Dolan, William was “furious” over his father’s decision to welcome the Sussexes following what he believes to be years of “treachery” in the wake of Megxit.

“It’s my understanding that William is furious… Why? Because it’s a reward for the treachery, disloyalty and the cruelty of Harry and Meghan,” Dolan told News24 host Paul Murray last month.

“Charles wants to see his grandchildren, I understand that, but I think that Harry and Meghan had no right to be on a royal property. They got their way as usual.”
