Shoppers say skin ‘looks amazing’ after Marilyn Monroe makeup balm
Beauty fans are raving about a Marilyn Monroe make-up balm which they say makes their skin ‘look amazing’. The Lisa Eldridge x Marilyn Monroe Elevated Baume Glow Concentrate Highlighter is currently available from Selfridges for £27.
It comes in two shades – butterfly light, although this is currently out of stock, and high-key light – and it is described as a ‘luxury, hot poured highlighter’. It offers a concentrated, dewy glow finish inspired and named after classic Hollywood lighting styles, the site says.
The balm is fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin and, according to the Lisa Eldridge website, the hero ingredients include organic phyto-retinol, which helps to improve texture by soothing and smoothing the skin, brown algae extract for hydration benefits, and caprylic/capric triglyceride to help soften and smooth the skin.
To use it, shoppers should use their fingertips and dab the product onto the cheeks, eyes, temples, lips, or anywhere they’d like a luminous glow. It can then be blended gently using fingertips or a brush, and it is buildable.
As an alternative, shoppers could grab this Revolution Beam Bright Highlighter from Boots for £6.99. This is described as a ‘luxurious silky powder that melts into the skin like a liquid’ and it offers a ‘soft luminous glow’.
Or at LookFantastic, there’s the Nars Light Reflecting Luminizing Stick for £33, which comes in various shades. This is a highlighter stick that works to deliver a dewy, radiant glow across the cheeks, lips, and eye area.
While there are no reviews on Selfridges, one person left a five-star review of the product on Lisa Eldridge’s website, saying: “I really love both the colour and the texture. It creates a very natural, healthy glow and makes my skin look amazing.”
Another said: “This is the perfect product for achieving a healthy, slightly sun-kissed look, and I’ve been using it every day since I bought it. Both the colour and texture are exquisite!”
While a third added: “I fell in love with this product from the moment I put it on. Nothing else is really needed for the summer look, maybe just some extra mascara to complete the look.”
One person left a four-star review and said: “Although I wear this every day, it’s kinda too dark for me. I went off a recommendation on IG for it, but now I’m just waiting for the butterfly shade to come back in stock.”
