Meghan Markle gives her locks a boost as she watches Invictus Games event – after confessing she was doing her ‘own hair and make-up’ at event in Germany

Meghan Markle gave her locks a little boost today as she attended the sixth day of the Invictus Games – after revealing she was doing her own hair and makeup for the event.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, flew from LA to meet her husband Prince Harry at the competition in Dusseldorf on Tuesday.

Speaking at her first Invictus Games engagement, she apologised for being late and explained she was spending time with their children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, at the couple’s Montecito mansion before jetting off.

Aides said Meghan did her own hair and make-up soon after arriving at her five star hotel in Dusseldorf and got ready for her first event in just over an hour.

Today, as she watched the wheelchair volleyball, she couldn’t help but play with her locks as she tucked them away from her face and behind her ear.

She then opted for a lowkey make-up look, with a creamy foundation and deep pink lip with thick eyelash extensions.

Meghan typically works with American make-up artist Daniel Martin, who did her make-up on her wedding day.

However, Mr Martin was celebrating his anniversary with husband Randall Stattler in Mexico.

Her go-to hair stylist, George Northwood, appeared to be working with Alexa Chung at the opening of the Vogue World Newsstand at Selfridges London so was also unavailable.

While a working member of the royal family Meghan would often do her own hair and make-up.

‘She just likes doing her own makeup. Meghan has her makeup done for some special occasions but likes to do it herself,’ a source told US weekly in 2019.

While you’ll never spot the poised Duchess of Cambridge fidgeting, the former Suits star has been spotted frequently touching her hair during her recent public appearances with Harry.

Meghan proved she is queen of the quick change today as she displayed two different outfits within hours of arriving for the sixth day of the event.

The couple were all smiles as they arrived at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf this afternoon, where the sitting volleyball and table tennis is being held.

The Sussexes arrived hand-in-hand ready to watch the action play out between Ukraine and Nigeria. Meghan opted for a bronze silk shirt and caramel trousers and her husband wore a smart navy suit and crisp white shirt.

They smiled and waved as they smiled and waved with NATO bosses and their families. Harry also also took part in a mental health discussion organised by Better Up, the Silicon Valley start-up where he is chief impact officer.

They were then embraced by crowds as they arrived to watch wheelchair volleyball matches – with Meghan swapping her outfit for an all-white ensemble. The Duchess donned a smart white Ralph Lauren sweater vest with a pair of matching jeans for the occasion.

But earlier today, Meghan showed her more formal side as she attended a private meeting with NATO chiefs and their families.

After sporting styled shorts and a J crew cardigan to watch a wheelchair rugby event she was dressed in a more demure style for the meet and greet.

Meghan wore loose fitting wide leg caramel coloured trousers and a silky brown shirt. Harry wore a blue suit but no tie.

The NATO event came after Harry carried out a private engagement in the morning while Meghan relaxed in their suite at the Hyatt Hotel.

He took part in a discussion organised by the Better Up, the career and life coaching start up where he is Chief Impact Officer on a reported seven-figure salary.

Last night the couple put on an extraordinary red carpet-style display of flirting and affection at the Invictus Games in their first official public engagements together since May.
