Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are heading to New York City next month after being awarded a Humanitarians of the Year Award

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are heading to New York City next month, where they will accept an award for their mental health advocacy, it has been revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been given the Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award in recognition of their campaigns to make the online world a safer place for families and young people, according to PEOPLE magazine.
They will reportedly accept the special honour at the nonprofit organisation’s World Mental Health Day Gala on October 9 in New York City, before stepping out for another engagement together the next day.
On October 10, the Montecito-based couple will attend Project Healthy Minds’ fourth annual World Mental Health Day Festival, where their Archewell Foundation is co-producing conversations with those making a difference in the mental health sector.
In a statement to the publication, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, said: ‘Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives.
‘As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honored to support them.
‘We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to shine a light on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.’
The couple set up their charity The Archewell Foundation in 2020 and launched an initiative aimed at tackling child safety online, called The Parents’ Network, in 2024.

The Daily Mail has contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s representatives for comment.
On Saturday, Harry and Meghan made a surprise joint appearance at Kevin Costner’s star-studded gathering in Santa Barbara.
During the outing, the Duchess showcased a diamond ring never seemingly worn by the mother-of-two before.
Fans were left convinced that the band, which the former actress opted to show off on her right hand, was a very glamorous birthday present for Meghan from Prince Harry.
The pear-shaped accessory – sitting proudly on her ring finger – was complemented by some of her favourite bracelets for the One805LIVE! concert which took place at the Yellowstone actor’s oceanside estate.
It is believed to be the £3,185 ‘Queen’ Water Drop Moonstone Ring with Full Pavé Diamond Halo, from brand Logan Hollowell – potentially gifted just in time for Meghan’s 44th, on August 4.
The ring comes in three sizes – Micro Queen, Baby Queen and Classic Queen, and it is understood that Meghan was wearing the latter, which is the biggest.
According to the product description, the central ‘moonstone’ is said to ‘bring good fortune, bring success in love as well as business matters’.

And in what may have been a touching, subtle tribute to the Duke’s late mother, it added: ‘The moonstone is associated with the moon and was the stone of the goddess Diana. The most powerful time to use the moonstone is in a full moon.’
The ring features 14k gold and the pear-shaped gem surrounded by a halo of white diamonds totaling 0.25 carat weight – and is available in yellow, rose, or white gold.
Logan Hollowell boasts a chic brand of handcrafted jewellery made in Los Angeles, using ’14k and 18k recycled gold, ethically sourced gemstones, and conflict-free diamonds from around the world’.
According to its website, ‘artisan goldsmiths create each piece with handpicked gemstones based on the intuition, feeling, and passion Logan draws from the natural beauty of the stone’.
It’s not the first time Meghan has spotted wearing pieces from the company – in the second series of her show With Love, Meghan, the Duchess could be seen wearing a matching necklace.
Meanwhile, in December, the Duchess appeared to be sporting an opulent £42,506 diamond tennis necklace from the jeweller, as she attended the Paley Honors Gala, to support her and Harry’s close friend Tyler Perry.
