Meghan Markle says it’s a ‘real delight and luxury’ to be a ‘present parent’ as she makes a rainbow-themed fruit salad in new sneak peek of her Netflix series

Meghan Markle has said it’s a ‘real delight and luxury’ to be a ‘present parent’ while making a rainbow-themed fruit salad in a new sneak peek of her Netflix series ahead of its release tomorrow.

In the clip, shared online by the streaming service, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, was filmed putting together colourful pieces of produce in an artful display.

She started by placing fruits such as grapes, blueberries and strawberries on a chopping board before declaring ‘you don’t have to do a big platter of this… you could do this with one small row for your kids for breakfast’.

‘It makes the morning a lot more fun’, said the mother-of-two, before adding: ‘Can I just show you? If you just made one.’

While building the smaller rainbow-themed fruit salad, Prince Harry’s wife insisted: ‘It’s a real delight in being able to be a present parent. And it’s a luxury sometimes because we all have to work. We all have a lot of stuff to do.

‘But when you can take a minute to just… finding the fun in those moments, makes for a really sweet start to the weekend,’ added Meghan, before finishing off her colourful display with yogurt and flower sprinkles.

‘It doesn’t need to be big for a party, it’s how you incorporate these practices everyday,’ concluded the Duchess.

Sharing the teaser to her own Instagram account, Meghan declared that the ‘wait is almost over’, adding: ‘If this brings you joy, wait until you see all episodes of With Love, Meghan dropping on Netflix at midnight tonight!’

It comes after Meghan revealed how her son Prince Archie tells her ‘Mama, don’t work too hard’ as she opened up about her children in an intimate interview with People magazine ahead of her cookery show.

Discussing the ‘heritage feeling’ behind her latest project, the Duchess told the US publication how her new series is her way of teaching her daughter Princess Lilibet, three, ‘what it’s like to be a working mom’.

With Love, Meghan is set to premiere on March 4, after the lifestyle and cookery show was delayed from its initial January release date due to the California wildfires.

The series is accompanied by the mother-of-two’s new merchandise range ‘As Ever’ – and the brand’s website features a photograph of the Duchess walking hand-in-hand with her daughter, which was said to be ‘especially meaningful’ for Meghan.

She said of her latest project: I love the heritage feeling of it and knowing this is something that I can create in front of my daughter and teach her what it’s like to be a working mom. This is something that hopefully can be part of her legacy too.’

Elsewhere, Prince Harry’s wife recalled ‘the sweetest thing’ to the publication, explaining how her son had sleepily told her in the days prior to the interview: ‘Mama, don’t work too hard.’

In the wide-ranging interview, Meghan revealed how she loves making breakfast for her family, starts her day at 6.30am, before waking her children up and getting them dressed and often cooks fried eggs and bacon – or sometimes relies on frozen waffles.

The Duchess’ new series will see her ‘reimagine the genre of lifestyle programming’ as she and her celebrity guests roll ‘up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same’, according to Netflix promotional material.

With Love, Meghan was filmed on a £5 million California estate and features several of the Duchess’ friends, including The Office star Mindy Kaling, and chefs Alice Waters and Roy Choi.

But despite not filming inside her own home, she explained to the magazine how she made sure that parts of her home life were still included in the programme – from her chicken coop to her garden.

She also had her children visit her during filming, saying: ‘I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share.’

Meghan first teased the project on New Year’s Day when she relaunched her defunct Duchess of Sussex Instagram account – rebranded simply as @meghan – with an elusive clip of herself running down on her beach.

The royal’s return to Instagram comes after Meghan shut down all of her social media channels in January 2018, shortly after getting engaged to Prince Harry.

A source for Kensington Palace said at the time: ‘Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them.’

It comes after Meghan’s make-up artist Daniel Martin celebrated seeing his ‘bestie’ on a giant billboard in New York City‘s Times Square.

Daniel, who is part of the mother-of-two’s innermost circle, on Sunday took to Instagram to show his support for the Duchess – ahead of the release of her forthcoming Netflix show.

'And it's a luxury sometimes because we all have to work. We all have a lot of stuff to do', added Meghan (pictured)

Two days before its world premiere on Netflix, Daniel documented his visit to Times Square ‘to see my besties’ in an Instagram Story that showed the 51-year-old goofily pointing to a billboard playing the trailer for Meghan’s show.

He captioned the clip, which was set to Kool & The Gang’s Celebration, ‘Hit Times Square to see my besties’ and tagged Netflix as well as Meghan’s Instagram accounts.

Daniel is believed to have known Meghan for over a decade, having met her while the former actress worked on Suits.

As Meghan didn’t have a publicist, she personally reached out to Daniel’s agent at The Wall Group – and he described how they both had an ‘instant connection.’

‘I knew what she wanted – it was one of those things where, she looked at herself in the mirror and was like, ‘Oh my God, this is what I always wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there,’ he told the publication.

The pair then kept in touch and while working on her former blog The Tig, Meghan asked Daniel to give her a helping hand.

He has remained in contact with the Duchess throughout her life in the royal family and was by Meghan’s side on her wedding day as he perfected her make-up.

In the run-up to its release on Tuesday, Netflix released a sneak-peek from With Love, Meghan featuring her ‘new friend’ Roy Choi.

In the clip, the pair were seen bonding over their shared love of ‘karaoke and dancing’ in Koreatown while preparing a hearty meal of Korean fried chicken in a glamorous kitchen set.

Meghan, who announced her Netflix series at the start of the year, reshared the sneak-peek to her Instagram Stories with the caption: ‘Thanks to my fellow Angeleno, Chef Roy Choi.

‘Had the best time having you on the show. Can’t wait for all of you to see it.’

The Duchess’ new show is set to be released on Tuesday, March 4, having been delayed from its initial premiere date of January 15 after devastating wildfires ripped through Los Angeles.

She also teased the show by sharing a ‘backstage video’ that featured her husband Prince Harry and her dance moves, before it was quickly taken down and then reuploaded on 27 February.

After it was deleted, the short clip was reposted on X before a seemingly identical version of the teaser was later reuploaded to her social media without explanation.

Meghan captioned the post: ‘Six more days until our show launches on @Netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins.’
