The Project’s royal commentator takes savage dig at Meghan Markle amid lifestyle company rebranding woes: ‘We’ve seen hurricanes with more consistency’

The Project’s royal commentator has taken a savage dig at Meghan Markle.
Kinzie Schofield was discussing the rebranding of The Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle company, American Riviera Orchard, on Wednesday night with host Georgie Tunny.
The royal watcher did not mince her words when asked about Markle’s brand – now known as As Ever – which has been fraught with problems.
‘There’s a lot of hate that always comes at Meghan rightly or wrongly, do you think that there is anything she does well?’ asked Tunny.
‘I really am impressed by the fact that she married a Prince,’ Kinzie joked.
‘I wish I could figure that out, too.’

Despite the not-so-subtle dig, the US-based correspondent did have some positive words for Meghan.
‘She’s great at PR,’ she said.
‘She’s so good at PR, we talk about her every single day so obviously she’s good at getting headlines.’
Elsewhere in the chat, Kinzie also found some space to throw some more shade at Meghan.
Talking about the rebrand, co-host Waleed Ali asked: ‘What’s an “As Ever?”
‘Technically the definition is something that remains unchanged or consistent over time, which is literally the antithesis of Meghan Markle,’ she said.
‘I’ve lost count of how many rebrands we’ve had now but we’ve seen hurricanes with more consistency.’
She also delved into the embattled launch of As Ever, when Georgie asked Kinzie which lifestyle Queen Meghan was most like – Gwyneth Paltrow or Martha Stewart.
‘What is behind the rebrand is legal necessity,’ she began.

‘In Meghan’s Instagram announcement, she really wants you to believe this was all part of an elaborate plan and an intentional path.
‘The reality is she couldn’t get American Riviera Orchard past the US Patent and Trademark offices.
She continued: ‘Along with the boutique in New York with the same name, and the coat of arms, she just secured the Instagram handle a couple of hours ago here in the States.’
When it came to a choice between Gwyneth and Martha, Kinzie said Megan was more akin to Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York when it came to her earning ability stateside.
‘When it comes to who she’s trying to emulate, I think they are both really great examples, but I see her more as a Fergie Duchess of York – a spokesperson for Weight Watchers in the States, appearing on home shopping networks late at night selling blenders.’
Meghan was forced to rename the company after she ran into trademark problems with her initial project American Riviera Orchard, in a shambolic about-face, just two weeks before the launch of her new Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’.
Trademark filings have revealed Meghan is planning to use her new As Ever merchandise empire to branch out into hospitality, running everything from Airbnb-style ‘temporary accommodation’ to ‘self-care’ and ‘calligraphy’ seminars.
But the overhaul was ridiculed when it was revealed a tiny Spanish village was considering launching legal action after accusing Meghan’s company of copying its coat of arms for As Ever’s palm tree and hummingbirds logo.
