In an article headlined: ‘Maths teacher is sacked after sending 50 emails to three female pupils including one who he told ‘you’re an angel’, tribunal hears’, published on 21 December 2023, we reported that Mr Raja, the teacher in question, told a student that he wanted to ‘touch her leg’, and that he ‘loved her’.
This was inaccurate. In fact, although the student did allege that Mr Raja did this, the tribunal made no finding on whether this actually happened.
This correction has been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation.
