Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet

How Princes George, Louis and Archie and Princesses Charlotte and Lilibet are the spitting images of their older royal relatives – after fans gush over Louis’ likeness to Kate in unseen photo of her from Christmas 1983

Eagle-eyed royal fans love to point out just how similar the younger generation of princes and princesses look to their older relatives in the British Royal Family.

Today, for instance, enthusiasts were sent wild after the Princess of Wales shared an unseen childhood photographer of herself enjoying a family Christmas in 1983 – with many dubbing Prince Louis her ‘twin’.

Kate, 41, shared the pictured from the Middleton’s family photo album on Instagram this afternoon to promote her Christmas Carol Service, which airs on ITV at 7:45pm on Christmas Eve.

Taken when the mother-of-three was just one month away from celebrating her second birthday, the image shows the Princess wearing a red-and-blue striped dress, navy cardigan and multicoloured beaded necklace.

She is seen looking transfixed by something in the distance as she sits at the table, which is decorated with festive tealights.

But this isn’t the first time a young royal has been compared to their older relative, with Prince George’s resemblance to his father Prince William regularly noted by fans, while Princess Charlotte has been likened to her late grandmother Princess Diana.
