Meghan Markle may be loved up with her Prince Charming today, but that doesn’t mean the royal icon has never felt the challenges of being single.
The Duchess of Sussex divorced her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, in 2013, sending her back onto the dating scene after two years of marriage.
She experienced multiple romances and breakups in the years that followed, until finally meeting her ‘One’ in the form of Prince Harry in 2016. The couple married in 2018 and has since settled down in Montecito, California with their adorable two children, Archie and Lilibet.
With Meghan’s public persona inextricably tied to the Duke of Sussex, it can be difficult to imagine the retired actress as a single woman. If her former musings are anything to go by, though, it looks like the 40-year-old isn’t afraid of going it alone.
In a resurfaced 2015 post from Meghan’s deleted blog, The Tig, the Duchess shared her best advice for treating yourself on Valentine’s Day when you’re “flying solo.” The entry was written a year before she met Prince Harry and likely overlaps with the end of her previous relationship with Canadian chef, Cory Vitiello.
