The Crown Princess is the wife of the heir to Denmark’s throne – and a woman who looks strikingly similar to Britain’s beloved Kate.
Queen Elizabeth‘s third cousin, Margrethe of Denmark, is this year celebrating her Golden Jubilee.
However, to mark the similar milestone the two countries are this year reaching — it has just been Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee — it is Kate, not the Queen, who is travelling to the Scandinavian nation.
In what can be seen as yet another gesture of trust in the Duchess, she will pay tribute to the historic ties between Britain and Denmark.

Further, this will be the first international venture of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which she launched in June 2021 to “drive awareness of and action on the extraordinary impact of the early years”.
Crown Princess Mary, too, has a foundation.
Her work, which she will show Kate, supports vulnerable women and children from domestic abuse.
But the two women’s “parallels go deeper”, journalist and commentator Alexandra Shulman notes.
She wrote in a column in the MailOnline: “These are two women who have brought to royal life an innate understanding of how to be successful royals today.”
Speaking of their journeys into the monarchy, Ms Shulman pointed out the “completely different world” from which Mary, 50, came when the relationship with her now-husband Prince Frederik began.
