Queen’s Platinum Jubilee message: Camilla to be Queen Consort
Last week, the Queen, 95, used her Platinum Jubilee message to express her “sincere wish” that the Duchess of Cornwall takes on the title of Queen Consort when Charles is ruler. The unexpected announcement saw Her Majesty make her intentions for the future of the monarchy public for the first time.
A YouGov poll that asks the public “Should the Duchess of Cornwall become Queen if Prince Charle becomes King?” charts the change in opinion on a bi-annual basis, with data dating back to 2019.
The most recent findings dating from November show that just 14 percent of respondents thought she should take on the “Queen Consort” title.
While 41 percent said she should have the Princess Consort title that had previously been confirmed as the one she would be taking.
However, following the Queen’s announcement, that Camilla would become Queen Consort, there’s a suggestion that the monarch’s intervention might have shifted opinion.

In the past, the public had shown some ill feelings towards the Duchess, mainly at the beginning of her relationship with Charles.
