Harry, 37, and his wife Meghan, 40, announced two years ago that they would leave their royal roles behind. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex famously revealed they would work to become financially independent of the Royal Family. The couple, who at the time said they would divide their time between the UK and North America, now live in Montecito, California. Meghan has not been back to England since leaving her role, while Harry returned on two occasions last year.
The Duke came back for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, in April, and again in July as he and William unveiled a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana.
However, the two brothers had a “tense moment”, as they paid tribute to their mother, Robert Hardman claimed in a recent documentary.
The journalist and author was interviewed for the Channel 5 documentary ‘2021: The Queen’s Terrible Year’.
Speaking of Harry and William’s meeting, he said: “It did bear the hallmarks of quite a sort of tense moment.”
The Diana statue was unveiled in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace, the former home of the royal sometimes dubbed the ‘People’s Princess’.
