Kate and Prince William shared on Twitter a deeply personal message dedicated to frontline staff, people alone or who are spending the day self-isolating due to the coronavirus pandemic and those caring for others. Their poignant message read: “This Christmas will be different to what so many of us had planned.
“From those who are alone or having to isolate away from loved ones, to the incredible people supporting our NHS and caring for those most in need – we are thinking of you.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stressed they were the ones who penned this statement by signing it off with their initials, “W & C”.
Royal fans were quick to reply to the Cambridges’ poignant message.
One, Toria, wrote: “Thank you, whilst I’m not alone, my situation is similar to yours, usually a huge family affair, yet 4 of us seems unusually quiet.
“My friends are isolating too, not able to see their kids open presents from Santa.”
A second, Damian Orton, wrote: “A Merry Christmas to two wonderful people who show so much generosity in their lives for everyone else.
“You set the finest of examples to the rest of us, and this despite all the pressures in your lives.”
Another, with the nickname The real Lunmsy, said. “Thank you for always caring.
“Merry Christmas to the beautiful family of the Duke and Duchess Cambridge. I hope you enjoy your day”.
