Google search data showed that people looking up “brown wool coat” in the UK on December 18 shot up 376 percent, just after the Duchess of Sussex was spotted donning one in California. Meghan was photographed wearing a brown wool coat by Massimo Dutti while out and about in Montecito, running last-minute errands for Christmas. She paired the sleek coat with knee-length brown boots and a matching beanie hat to complete the casually sophisticated ensemble.
The Duchess’s loyal supporters were quick to flood social media with messages of praise for Meghan as they hit out at the “intrusive” images.
One, with the user name @SneezeCocoa, said: “Meghan looks absolutely gorgeous! And being papped from time to time is expected, it’s the illegal and intrusive actions of the media and paparazzi I have an issue with.”
The new research by Design Bundles showed that online searches for the term “brown wood coat” increased nearly five-fold from the daily average on this one day.
