Millie Mackintosh has been slammed for promoting her in-flight skincare routine – with the total cost of the products coming to more than £2,400.

The Made In Chelsea star-turned-influencer, 34, was flying from London to Cape Town last week for a ‘very exciting photoshoot’.

Millie is married to fellow MIC cast member Hugo Taylor, who is rumoured to have once dated Princess Eugenie and is friends with Prince Harry

She is used to a luxurious Chelsea lifestyle, with her MIC days documenting the lavish parties she and her cast-mates used to throw.

As she set off to South Africa on her luxurious flight, which included a Business Class breakfast of fruit and yoghurt, Millie took the opportunity to show off her ‘in-flight skincare routine’.

But her followers were quick to tell her to ‘get real’ – as the total cost of the products came to £2,410.99, some of which were gifted to her.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Millie said she was: ‘Glowing from 40,000 feet.

‘I’m on my way to Cape Town and will be heading straight onto set for a very exciting photoshoot when I arrive.

‘My skin needs to be radiant and well-hydrated for the upcoming couple of work days, so you bet I’m giving it the full in-flight skincare treatment it deserves.’

First up, she used the oxygen glide and mist from Lyma Life – before using their lasers, which come in a package for a hefty £1,999.

At the enormous price point, the lasers claim to have anti-aging properties to reduce wrinkles, scars, redness and pigmentation – and they can clearly get through airport security without a hitch.

She then lay back in her seat as she applied a vitamin-infused face mask from MZ SKIN (£95) before applying a hyaluronic acid hydrating serum from the same brand (£120).

To achieve glowing skin, she moisturised with the @spectacleskincare performance creme (£76).

She finished off her routine with some slightly more affordable products – with the Glossier full orbit eye cream costing £28, a £19.99 lash serum from Noveau Lashes and £23 lip butter from Summer Fridays – but these made the routine even more pricey.

The final product was an anti-ageing hand cream from Dr Barbara Sturm, costing £50, bringing the total to just over £2,400.

One person commented: ‘I wish those things were accessible to most of us! The cost of these items is 😢’

Another slammed her for posting the video, telling her to ‘get real’: ‘Products are eye wateringly expensive and totally out of reach for the vast majority of your followers…

‘Please get real when people are struggling to heat their homes and feed their families.’

Although some were more positive, complimenting her ‘beautiful skin’, another Instagram commenter wryly noted that ‘a face mask in economy might get you some interesting looks’ and someone else joked that the routine was ‘costing more than the flight’.

Before getting on the plane, Millie told her Instagram followers: ‘I am so excited. Just on my way to the airport and I’m so excited because I’m doing a shoot with a brand I’ve been working with for a while.

‘I’m pretty thrilled I get to go to Cape Town to do it, which is a pretty awesome thing to do for work. But it is emotional, I just said goodbye to the girls and put them to bed.

‘I shed a little tear’

Flights from Heathrow to Cape Town cost several thousands of pounds in Business Class.

Millie is married to Hugo Taylor, 37, and the couple share daughters Sienna, three, and Aurelia, two.

Millie and Hugo briefly dated during their Made In Chelsea days back in 2011, with their relationship coming to an end during a dramatic reality TV showdown which saw Millie accuse Hugo of cheating on her with her best friend Rosie Fortescue.

The pair reunited in May 2016 shortly after Millie’s split from her first husband, rapper Professor Green, 40.

The former TV personality was married to the musician, real name Stephen Manderson, for two-and-a-half years before they announced their split in February 2016.

Millie and Hugo tied the knot in June 2018 at Whithurst Park, West Sussex, one year after he proposed during a holiday to the Greek island of Mykonos.
