Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 74-year marriage was the model of a happy and healthy relationship, according to their grandson Prince Harry.
In a new documentary about the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, Harry shared some of his fondest memories and special moments with the monarch and her late husband over the years. “The two of them together were just the most adorable couple,” the Duke of Sussex said. “To me, knowing the cheekiness of him and knowing that behind what the world sees you have two individuals who were very much in love and both, from a very young age, have dedicated their life to service—that is an incredible bond between two people.”
Harry went on to admit that while he will miss his grandfather’s “sense of humor,” he’s more concerned right now with how the queen is coping with the loss of her husband and partner after so many years as the pair were inseparable since their marriage in 1947. “[I] miss him more for my grandmother because I know how incredibly strong she was with him there,” he confessed, but added, “I also know she will be OK without him.”
