The Duke of Sussex and Jill Biden will co-host a virtual event in honour of Warrior Games athletes, families and caregivers instead of the annual competition due to COVID-19 concerns.
Both Prince Harry and First Lady were planning on attending the games in person but will now serve as online co-hosts alongside Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Fisher charity CEO Ken Fisher.
The meeting has triggered inquiries about Meghan’s political ambitions, which were reported in Vanity Fair towards the end of last year.
“Her representatives insist she has no plan to run for office, but a close friend suggests it’s the main reason she didn’t give up her American citizenship,” Vanity Fair alleged.
Ahead of the 2020 presidential election Meghan said it was the “most important election of our lifetime” as rumours abounded the duchess might put herself forward for a 2024 run.
Royal commentators Kristen Meinzer and Tiwa Adebayo have recently discussed the possibility ahead of the release of a documentary titled ‘Fergie & Meghan: Inconvenient Royals’.
