Kate and her husband Prince William, both 39, are getting their children ready for another year of school. Their children Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, are returning to the classroom ‒ the older two to school and the youngest to nursery. On previous occasions, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have accompanied the young royals to school on their first day.
Kate, who is a keen photographer, has also shared snaps of the children ahead of the new term.
When it was George’s first day at school however in 2017, Kate missed his big day due to severe morning sickness.
The Duchess, who was pregnant with Louis at the time, was being cared for at Kensington Palace.
A Palace spokesperson said: “Unfortunately the Duchess of Cambridge remains unwell, and will not be able to accompany Prince George on his first day of school.
“The Duke of Cambridge will drop off Prince George this morning as planned.”
William drove George in and dropped him off at Thomas’s Battersea, an £18,000-a-year preparatory school in London.
George’s sister Charlotte also now attends the school, while their younger brother Louis has started at Willcocks Nursery School.
The Duke held George’s hand as he accompanied him towards the entrance of the school.
