Following the departure of Meghan, 40, and Harry, 36, royal commentator Marlene Koenig claimed the pair were a valuable asset to the Firm. Without the young royal couple to take the Firm forward, Ms Koenig questioned what the future of the Royal Family may look like. Speaking to Express.co.uk, Ms Koenig said: “Harry and Megan who certainly do have a popular following, could have been extremely helpful.
“Helping supporting the royals would have been a huge asset but it didn’t end that way and we don’t know the full story.”
Ms Koenig added: “There’s still the question of what’s going to happen in the next few years, as the royals keep getting older?
“And there’s no younger group to take on some of these efforts.
“And that’s sad. I think that’s something that they’re going to have to deal with.
“That might be one of the biggest changes of losing Harry and Megan, is they lost two younger people.”
Although Ms Koenig regretted the loss, she did praise the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
She added: “I mean, the Duchess of Gloucester has been brilliant all these years, you know, Danish-born and, you know, I always call them the unsung heroes of the royal family.
“And now he’s 77 and none of their children replace them as royals.”
Meghan also launched the 40×40 initiative to mentor women returning to the workplace post-Covid.
The initiative asks women to donate 40 minutes of their time to those returning to work…
