Research conducted by gift specialists Find Me A Gift analysed the internet search volume for a number of celebrity bridal gowns.
Royal weddings usually attract millions of people from around the world, so it was no surprise that the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge secured the top two places.
It was a very close call between the pair with 21,900 and 21,500 average monthly UK searches respectively.
British-born Clare Waight Keller, who was Givenchy’s first female artistic director, was the woman who designed Meghan’s stylish dress.
She attempted to create a “timeless piece that would emphasise the iconic codes of Givenchy throughout its history, as well as convey modernity through sleek lines and sharp cuts”.
Kate’s 2011 Royal Wedding dress, meanwhile, was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, and featured a delicately feminine lace design.
