The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told a global audience of millions how an unnamed royal expressed concern about how dark their unborn baby’s skin might be.
Now the extraordinary allegations and the story of their exit from royal life is being recreated by Lifetime in Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace.
The trailer sees actor Jordan Dean (Prince Harry) tell Sydney Morton (Meghan): “I see you literally being hounded to death, and I’m powerless to stop it.”
In another segment, Morton, playing the duchess, says: “I am the person who is strong and gets things right.”
As the audio plays, images of her crying and embracing her co-star appear in the background.
There are also clips of them with baby Archie as the film attempts to recreate the wider circumstances around the royal departure.
At the end, both say: “I can’t lose you.”
According to People, the movie is due for release in the fall.
The tag line is “not all fairytales have the perfect ending” and the commercial optimistically describes it as the “movie event of the year.”
This will be the third Lifetime film about the couple, after Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance was released days before their royal wedding in May, 2018.
