Sarah Ferguson “surprised” royal watchers when she defended Meghan Markle‘s new book against backlash. The Duchess of York threw her “support” behind the Duchess of Sussex in a move that has been described as her “changing her tune”. The List narrator Christine-Marie Liwag Dixon explored the relationship between the two royal women.
She told viewers: “Sarah Ferguson is clearly no stranger to controversy.
“With a long history of ruffled feathers, one of her latest public attention-grabs has been in the form of supporting polarising TV personality Piers Morgan.
“Morgan’s remarks on the Duchess of Sussex after her Oprah Winfrey tell-all created waves across the media. And while Morgan was widely condemned, he also had some supporters.”
For a column in the Daily Mail, he wrote that he received a text from the Duchess of York that read: “People have said how much they miss your morning joy and humour … get back out there!”

Ms Liwag Dixon continued: “Meanwhile, Meghan famously admitted in her Oprah interview that it was Ferguson who first taught her how to curtsey for the Queen.
“But because Ferguson has generally not been considered part of a united ‘Team Duchess’, many royal watchers were surprised that she changed her tune with recent support for the American Princess.
