Celebrating International Nurses Day, Camilla travelled to The Whittington Hospital this afternoon. At the hospital, Camilla planted the new Nye Bevan and Roald Dahl roses alongside hospital staff. As Camilla planted the new roses with staff, the Duchess can be seen talking to the trust nurses before the four women break into laughter.
Although it is unclear what sparked the laughter but it appears it was some gardening advice from one of the women.
Another women then says: “Everyone does everything here.”
Accompanying the video of Camilla and the staff, the Cornwall’s official Twitter page said: “In the garden of The Whittington Hospital, The Duchess of Cornwall is invited to plant the new Nye Bevan and Roald Dahl roses alongside Trust staff, to symbolise the close relationship between the hospital and charity. “
The Roald Dahl roses are to resemble the specialist nurses who are in place across the country in multiple trusts.
They work under Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity which supports seriously ill children and young people.
In a further comment on the work the nurses do with children and young people, Camilla praised their “kindness and boundless energy”.
The tweet said: “Whenever I have the great pleasure of meeting Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses, I am always struck by your kindness, resourcefulness and boundless energy; and never fail to be moved by the stories of the lives you have touched.
“Thank you for being marvellous.”
