A Covid denier who refuses to wear a mask has been fined for racially abusing a police officer.
However, he became “aggressive and confrontational” and officers arrested him on suspicion of public order offences.
Upon spotting the surname of one of the officers was “Werner”, Somers “assumed he was German asked ‘why don’t you go back to your country?’”.
He also referred to the officers as “losers and paedophiles” while being detained, ignoring the pleas of police for him to calm down.
Somers, of Haslemere Avenue, Mitcham, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 4) charged with a single count of using racially-aggravated words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
