The Duke of Sussex landed the new role for the mental health start-up company, BetterUp Inc. back in March this year. But as the acronym “CHIMPO” has already drawn in mockery in Britain, Harry has been left humiliated as the phrase is Japanese slang for “penis”.
On the Japanese news website, SoraNews24, several people commented on the new acronym, mocking the Duke if he ever travelled to Japan and used the phrase.
One person said: “Imagine if he came to Japan and introduced himself as a ‘chimpo’ to officials?
“I’d love to see their faces!”
Another person added: “It doesn’t matter what age you are, the word ‘chimpo’ always raises a smile.”
While a third reader said the news would make “junior high school boys happy”.
This is not the first time Harry has been mocked for his new role in the Silicon Valley start-up company.
Earlier this month, Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the Duke of Sussex’s latest moves outside the Royal Family.
