Kate Middleton’s local pub landlord discusses Queen encounter
Kate is known to be a keen amateur photographer who often delights royal fans with pictures of her family released to mark special occasions. However, she decided to trust professional photographer Matt Porteous for her portrait featured in the Hold Still book, to be released next month.
In the portrait chosen to go in the book alongside the Duchess of Cambridge’s forewords, Kate can be seen smiling in a red jumper while holding her trusted camera.
The picture was taken last year at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall.
Mr Porteous opened up on having Kate as a subject.
He told Hello! magazine: “Catherine’s style very much suits the country setting we were in and the light was perfect for a few minutes before the sun set behind the trees.

“Catherine has an incredible eye for style, she knows what will look best in these scenes which makes my life easy.”
The Duchess, the photographer added, has “an amazing eye for photos” which means she can provide help on lights and backdrops when planning a portrait.
Last year, Mr Porteous also took the Cambridges’ family picture released by Kensington Palace as their Christmas card.
